Cowboys’ Last Chance to Prove They Can Win on the Road

A few days have passed since the Cowboy’s embarrassing road loss, 31-10 in Buffalo.

I have some thoughts on why this week will be the last time I trust them on the road.

Two of their final three games are on the road, but this week at Miami is the only game I care about.

The other is against Washington the last week of the season.

“Regardless of what’s in front of us, and all the other conversations, there’s too big of a gap between home and away,” coach Mike McCarthy said.

McCarthy is right. We can’t keep hearing this after every road loss! It is getting old.

Dallas will need to win three games on the road to get to the Super Bowl.

The Eagles gave the Cowboys a gift by losing to Seattle yesterday, but Philly will still need to drop one of these next three games for the Cowboys to win the East.

Road Woes

It makes no sense to me as to why this team doesn’t show up on the road.

There is no way that you should go from averaging nearly 40 points per game at home to under 20 on the road.

Let’s be fair here, both Dak Prescott and the defense outside of the road game at Philly have been awful on the road.

The offense has to score points, but as a team that prides itself on defense, you can’t let James Cook have 179 yards on the ground.

I am giving this team one last chance to prove to me they can win on the road.

They NEED to go into Miami on Christmas Eve and beat a Dolphins team that many think needs a signature win.

They need to prove not only to me and the rest of the sports media but to themselves that they can go on the road and beat a quality opponent.

How are we supposed to believe that you can go on the road and win three games in a row if you can’t win one against a playoff team in the regular season?

Only SEVEN teams have won the Super Bowl as a wild card team.

The most recent was the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2020 with Tom Brady.

Mike McCarthy did it once as the head coach of the Packers in 2010. He also had Aaron Rodgers as his quarterback.

Prescott has played well, but nothing has made me think he can do it time and time again on the road.

The Dolphin’s offense on paper is much better than the Bills, but they are hit or miss also.

Regardless, if the Cowboys can go on the road this week and handle a playoff team outside of their building, I won’t jump off the ship.

This team needs to figure it out on the road, they only have one home game left of the season against the Lions.

They better enjoy it, because it may be the last time they have a home game until next season.
