Cowboys “Haven’t Even Discussed” Ravens Safety Earl Thomas

What's Left for Cowboys to Offer in Deal for Earl Thomas? 1

It’s re-run time for NFL storylines apparently. The Cowboys and All Pro safety Earl Thomas have been linked together offseason after offseason, but once Thomas signed with the Baltimore Ravens last Spring, the dream seemed dead for the Cowboys.

But due to some odd behaviors from Earl Thomas, that door may open once again. Earl Thomas was sent home from Ravens practice Saturday after an “altercation” with a teammate. NFL Network reporter Mike Garafolo reported that everything is on the table for the Ravens and Thomas following the incident, “even release.”

Well if Thomas were to be released…

Don’t even think about it says NFL Network’s Jane Slater.

The trusted Cowboys reporter says that Earl Thomas hasn’t been discussed at The Star whatsoever, and after signing Clinton Dix this offseason they may feel their safety need is filled. Plus, we know how much hype there is around safety Xavier Woods internally, further complicating the safety spot.

Neither of these guys are better than Earl Thomas of course, but Thomas coming back to Texas to play for the Cowboys remains a pipe dream. And at this point, I don’t know if he would be a welcomed addition to the team regardless.

His own teammates don’t want him and is an apparent cancer to the team. We don’t need anymore drama than we have already

That’s my main concern in possibly signing him…what must it take for Baltimore to cut such a dynamic player?

That’s a tough decision, they said the same things about a certain #94 back in the early 90s and he spearheaded a defense that ranked #1! I sure would love to kick that can down the road though…..maybe lightning strikes twice!!!

I agree 100% with coach Chris! We don’t need the baggage he brings.

It has been years since Earl Thomas was a special level player. If you read, Thomas was making mistakes in coverage in Baltimore and got angry over that with team mates. ET is simply not better than the current safeties. Amongst the many problems with media is that media is too self centered to update its evaluation. 5 years ago, ET was special as a player. But ,it is 2020, not 2015.

Price and length is everything if he’s cheap enough you can cut him if it becomes a problem

Dude just look a Woods’s stats last year compared to Thomas…Earl went to the pro bowl on reputation. If Xavier Woods keeps treding upward he will go to the pro bowl this year….playmaker in the making!!!

We don’t need Earl Thomas…. I fell confident enough in the safeties we have now!! If anything we need a top corner!! That’s the only position on this team that I’m not 100% sold on!!

Give him a one year deal with incentives. make him earn a longer deal. When he is playing well, he is outstanding.

Yeah, I’m definitely not against a one year deal to see how it goes.
