The NFL will start the new decade with two of their most storied franchises, with the Dallas Cowboys and Pittsburgh Steelers battling out in the Hall of Fame game.

The selection of these teams makes perfect sense, and most saw it coming from a mile away. Long time Steelers head coach Bill Cowher and safety Troy Polamalu will both be inducted into the Hall of Fame the same week, as will Cowboys head coach Jimmy Johnson.

For such a star studded class, the NFL couldn’t disappoint with the week’s preseason match up.

Both the Cowboys and Steelers have played in the Hall of Fame game six times previously, with each team sitting at 3-3 in the game. This will be the first time the two square off against one another in the event, however.

Dallas last played in this game in 2017 when they defeated the Arizona Cardinals 20-18. Also known as the Rico Gathers coming out party, by the way.

The game will take place on Thursday August 6th, and will officially kick off the NFL preseason.
