With Training Camp right around the corner, a handful of Madden 23 rankings were released throughout the week, and no surprise, some of them had me scratching my head, like every year.
Madden is a video game, and these rankings don't matter, but it always sparks up a conversation on social media when they come out.
This post may not be a fan favorite, but it's fun to pass the time before the Cowboys report to camp in a few days. Some notable players found their way inside the top ten, while others were rated lower than expected.
CeeDee Lamb was the highest-rated WR on the team at an 85 overall. Ezekiel Elliott snuck inside the top 10 running backs, rounding out the pack with an 88 overall, the tenth best in the game. That ranking could increase quickly if he has a strong start to the season.
Madden rated DeMarcus Lawrence and Micah Parsons the two highest defenders for the Cowboys. Lawrence sits tied for eighth for edge rushers at a 90 overall. Parson's rating of 88, ranks 14th among all NFL linebackers. Parsons at an 88 is just ridiculous. He was the unanimous defensive rookie of the year and led the Cowboys will 13 sacks. This once again motivated Parsons to be GREAT. I love his fire for the game of football.

From the rankings that were dropped this week, Zack Martin was the highest-rated cowboy with a 98 overall rating, followed by fellow offensive lineman Tyron Smith with a 95. Dak Prescott is a 89 overall, Dalton Schultz is the 13th ranked TE with an 82 overall rating.
To reiterate, nobody pays any attention to these. (Unless you play the game as I do). The entire list with all the players rankings will continue to be released. We will see where others ‘officially' rank, but from what has been released thus far, those are some of the player rankings to start the year.
