The Dallas Cowboys improved to 12-4 on the season after a 27-13 points victory over the Tennessee Titans, but the win came with a potential loss to the offensive line.
Cowboys center Tyler Biadasz is believed to have suffered a high ankle sprain, those close to the team said after the game last night. With only 2.5 weeks before the playoffs start, this could loom large when wild card weekend draws near.
Biadasz was injured with 35 seconds left in the third quarter when DeMarcus Walker accidentally rolled the back of Biadasz’s right ankle. Biadasz limped off the field but needed a cart to get into the training room.
I did like what I saw from guard Connor McGovern when he was moved to center. Tyler Smith then moved from tackle to guard and the team inserted Jason Peters at left tackle.
First, let me start by saying I HATE Thursday night football games for this reason. I wish they would go away or only allow teams on a bye the week before play. The NFL season is long and a grind. These short weeks do nothing good for them.
Regardless of what happens this Sunday with the Eagles game and the Cowboys’ chances to win the NFC East, I don’t want to see a single starter play next week at Washington. Injuries have already beaten this team up. They don’t need to take a chance and suffer anymore before the playoffs the following week.
We should learn more about if the Cowboys will get Biadasz back for the playoffs as the following week plays out, but man, I will say it. It is time to give credit to Mike McCarthy.
Yes, I want to see it get done in the playoffs, but The Dallas Cowboys have won at least 12 games in back-to-back seasons for the first time since 1992-1995. It has been 27 years since they were last this good in just two straight years.
Think about that for a moment.
I am 26 years old and have never seen back-to-back seasons of 12-plus wins. I am happy the team is winning and making the postseason. It is time to win a few games and make a run.
This team can play with anyone or DOWN to anyone. Yet the Cowboys have scored at least 27 points in NINE straight games.
We see this one on a week-to-week basis in the NFL. Only some teams are going to win 30-3 every single week. The Texans took the Chiefs to overtime two weeks ago, which happens all the time.
The Cowboys won the football game by 14 points, the defense got a few takeaways, and yet a sluggish game resulted in 27 points on the scoreboard.
Can we please enjoy winning football games and not harp on all the negatives every time they play? The game was gross, and they still scored nearly 30.
Let’s get healthy for the playoffs and see who wins the NFC South because that is who they will visit on wildcard weekend.
Time enjoy the next few weeks before it is win or go home.
