Joint Practices w/ Broncos, Chargers Announced for Cowboys 2022 Preseason

The Dallas Cowboys will be spending the first half of their preseason out west following their traditional training camp location in Oxnard, CA. During the weeks leading up to road games against the Denver Broncos and Los Angeles Chargers in August, the AFC West teams will host the Cowboys in joint practices.

Dallas’ preseason opener against the Broncos on Saturday, August 13th will be preceded by a joint practice on Friday, August 11th. The Chargers and Cowboys will hold two joint practices on August 17th and 18th before their preseason game on Saturday, August 20th.

These joint practices are an excellent opportunity to shake things up after long weeks of beating on your teammates in training camp. But that pent-up frustration often leads to some skirmishes between the teams, such as we saw last year when the Cowboys and Rams tried to share the practice field.

This year Dallas will not see either Denver or Los Angeles on its regular-season schedule. They will be facing all four teams from the AFC South and the Bengals for their interconference games.

The Cowboys will close their preseason with their only August home game against the Seattle Seahawks. This will be the first year that Dallas has only three preseason games since the new rule went into effect. They played in the Hall of Fame game in 2021 against Pittsburgh, giving them four total.
