For the first time since 2020, the Dallas Cowboys are on a three-game losing streak after falling 27-21 to the Falcons in Atlanta yesterday.
We are at the halfway point of the season, and the Dallas Cowboys are 3-5, a mark they have not been for a very long time, and honestly, many saw this coming, we just didn’t want to believe it.
Jerry Jones set this team up to fail months ago, and all he did was tell us how much he loved his guys after saying he was going “all in.”
Is there any hope to right the ship down the stretch? They have a 10% chance to make the playoffs now, and with injuries to Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb, they have a 0% chance.
This team is going to have to turn into spoiler, and try and knock off some teams that are fighting for the playoffs later this season.
I Was Wrong
I knew the offense would take a step back this season, and yes, the defense has a boat load of injuries, but they are bad man. Like Mike Nolan bad. They can’t stop a cold.
After the first defensive and offensive drive of the football game, I thought maybe this team had a chance, and even after Dak Prescott threw a touchdown pass to Rico Dowdle, I thought maybe this team still has something left.
One thing I noticed yesterday was all the missed tackles, like that is how they have gotten to this point. What we saw yesterday in a game that felt winnable. That is how you lose three games in a row.
When you are a backup/depth player filling in, you need to make those open field tackles.
Time For Changes
Jerry Jones keeps feeding us lie after lie. He told us that he is going to look into doing something before the trade deadline tomorrow. What is the point?
“We’ll probably do a couple things this week,” Jerry Jones said. “I’m a long way from being dismayed about this team this year.”
You are going to be playing the next few weeks without your seven best players. It is time to deal some guys, and move on. You are not going to recover from being 3-5.
Mike McCarthy does not deserve a pass with all the injuries, they had their guys against the Saints, who just fired Dennis Allen. His last win came against Dallas.
They had their guys against the Ravens, no excuse for this stuff. Now that Dak is going to be out, Jerry will probably ride out McCarthy, but my goodness, please do not bring him back next season.
No way he can, right?
This team was broken the moment Jerry did not get any better in the offseason, changes are going to need to be made.
It really stinks talking about this, because over the last three years the Cowboys have won in the regular season.
A Lot Of Losses Coming
No Micah, Dak, Lamb, Cooks, Bland, Lawerence. This team is going to be 3-and-8 after the next three games.
They play the Eagles, Texans and then Washington. Without seven of their top players, many who are All Pros, they have no chance going forward.
I wanted change when they lost the playoff game. Now we have to settle for looking forward to the draft next April.
Knowing the Cowboys, they will win just enough meaningless games to get a pick right outside the top five, and still manage to draft the wrong guy.
A lot of L’s are coming up, and with everyone hurt, I would not be shocked if they won only two more games for the rest of the season. This season stinks.
