After the Eagles’ 2nd straight loss, the NFC East is wide open

The Dallas Cowboys come into this week’s game with the Carolina Panthers with a 2-2-1 record, but if they win that game, they will be above .500 and after the Giants upset the Eagles last night, right in the thick of the NFC East race.

Dallas is currently 1-and-0 in the division with the high-scoring win over the Giants in week two, and with Washington on the way next week, that game could be massive for the division race.

The Eagles have now lost two in a row after starting 4-and-0 and everyone thought they would run away with it, but I say not so fast.

NFC EAST RACE

After the Giants upset the Eagles last night 34-17, a lot more questions are now being asked on this Friday.

Are the Eagles just going to win away with the division like many thought after starting 4-and-0? A lot of folks noted that although the Eagles were winning, they had a lot of issues, and they are finally starting to come out.

Yes, the loss to the Eagles week one hurts, but things are going to get very tight over the next two weeks.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones on @1053thefan on the Giants beating the Eagles 34-17 last night: u201cThis whole (NFL) thing is designed for parity. u2026 It doesnu2019t surprise me at all. u2026 In general, weu2019re very capable of evolving into a team that can compete for the NFC East championship.u201d

The Commanders are 3-and-2, and play the Bears this week, so who knows how that is going to go, but the Cowboys will be at 3 wins after they take care of the Panthers this week.

It would have been nice to win that game against Green Bay instead of a tie, but that does not hurt them right now, and with CeeDee Lamb on his way back maybe for the Washington game, the Cowboys have a legit shot here.

The Eagles are on the road against the Vikings next week before their bye week, and then again will play the Giants, then they have a gauntlet.

They will play the Packers, Lions, Cowboys, Bears and then the Chargers. The way their offense is playing, they might not be able to score enough to win any of those games.

The Cowboys have to win this week and beat the Commanders the following week if this team actually wants any chance at winning the NFC East.

Let’s see how the rest of this month goes, but the way the offense is playing, if the Cowboys defense can find a way to just somehow be average, this team has a good enough shot as the Eagles or Commanders to win the division.

I don’t think there is that one dominant team in the NFL today.

Can’t look past the Panthers to the Commanders’ game. Looks like the Giants may have found themselves a QB. The division is getting a bit interesting.
