Cowboys 2017 Mock Draft: Who Said The Secondary's Thin? 1

Ahkello Witherspoon, CB, Colorado

After addressing both the front and back-ends of their defense in the first two rounds, the Cowboys decide to double-dip at defensive back and find themselves a serious contender to start at outside corner in round one.

At 6’3″, Witherspoon would certainly be the tallest corner on the Cowboys roster immediately, but he would be an immediate upgrade over much of their current defensive backs.

Witherspoon is a fluid, athletic cover corner who can stick to receivers in man if needed, but is certainly scheme versatile. I currently have a third round grade on Witherspoon, and believe he would be a solid selection at the end of round three.

  1. I like your selections. I don’t think Adam Shaheen will be available in the 4th. He’ll be a Day 2 pick. I’m not a fan of drafting a RB. I firmly believe we can get what we need from the undrafted ranks. I’d rather use it on other positions.
