Cowboys draft San Jose State DE Viliami Fehoko Jr. with the 129th pick

The Dallas Cowboys have selected San Jose State edge Viliami Fehoko Jr. with the 129th pick in the NFL draft.

Dallas has now used three of their first four picks on defense, he won the Mountain West player of the year a season ago, and had a very solid season.

He totaled 69 tackles, 19 of which resulted in a loss. He finished with nine sacks, and two forced fumbles.

Junior Fehoko was the Mountain West Conference defensive player of the year in 2022. He finished his career with 23 sacks and 47 tackles for loss. Crowded DE group now with Micah Parsons, DeMarcus Lawrence, Dorance Armstrong, Sam Williams, Dante Fowler.

With playing at a smaller school that did not get as much national attention, Fehoko is a player who folks might not know a ton about.

I know I didn’t. Heck, had no idea he won the conference player of the year until they said it on ESPN.

From everything I have seen about him, it sounds like he dominated the Mountain West, let’s hope he keeps it up at the next level, and no he isn’t related to Simi Fehoko, but is a second cousin of Vita Vea of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

When you watch Junior Fehoko’s tape, nobody in the Mountain West had a chance against him.
