As the Dallas Cowboys get set to face the New England Patriots in Foxborough, Massachusetts this afternoon, they’ll have a chance to win a big game on the road that could give them a boost of confidence as they prepare for the stretch run of the schedule.
Both teams will be missing valuable members of their teams and this game will likely come down to which team is able to adjust.
Dallas Cowboys Inactives
- WR Cedrick Wilson
- WR Devin Smith
- S Donovan Wilson
- LB Leighton Vander Esch
- DE Joe Jackson
- OL Brandon Knight
- DL Trysten Hill
The big news of the week was the reemergence of a neck issue for Linebacker Leighton Vander Esch that will cost him this week against the Patriots and possibly several more. It’s been reported the Cowboys medical staff won’t reevaluate Vander Esch’s neck for three weeks, leaving his season in question at the point.
The Cowboys continue their trend of carrying just four wide receivers into game day, which reasserts their confidence in their top four wide receivers’ health.
With the flu bug running rampant at The Star this week, Donovan Wilson will be inactive this week.
New England Patriots Inactives
- WR Mohamed Sanu
- WR Phillip Dorsett
- TE Ryan Izzo
- DB Jason McCourty
- QB Cody Kessler
- RB Damien Harris
- OL Korey Cunningham
On the Patriots side of things, the big absences are wide receivers Mohamed Sanu and Phillip Dorsett. That means the Cowboys will have to worry more about Julian Edelman and James White, but will also mean more snaps for rookies N’Keal Harry and Jakobi Meyers.
Another important name to note is Defensive Back Jason McCourty who is an important piece to their secondary. The Cowboys weapons, despite the weather should, have some opportunities in the passing game.
