Dallas Cowboys have no excuse to lose to the 49ers on SNF

The bye week for the Dallas Cowboys is over, but it was nothing short of eventful. By now I am sure you heard all about the drama Jerry created with his comments while on his weekly radio appearance.

Now it is time for this team to get back to football. They are on the road for a Sunday Night matchup with another team who is just as injured as they are, maybe even worse.

Both teams need a win in the worst way possible, or their chances of making the playoffs in a loaded NFC might be all but gone.

This Is The Season

If the Cowboys lose to the 49ers without Christian McCaffrey, Deebo Samuel, Brandon Aiyuk and possibly Trent Williams, it is an embarrassment.

I understand you probably won’t have Brandin Cooks, Micah Parsons or DeMarcus Lawerence, but you might get DaRon Bland back. You still have CeeDee Lamb and Trevon Diggs.

If you roll into their house and bet them, nobody will care because they are more than short-handed, but if you lose, the season is over. You have more playmakers that will be showing up for the game than they will.

Don’t lose this game. You fall to 3-4 after a bye week, with the way Washington and the rest of the NFC is playing, you aren’t making the playoffs.

What Could Go Wrong?

In the past three games, the Cowboys pass rush has become a much bigger issue for defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer.

While Dallas has the second-highest pressure rate (30.4 percent) across the entire regular season, it’s only generated a 22.1 percent pressure rate (league average) in the last three games.

If we are being honest, this team feels broken, and does not have the right mojo in the building.

Jerry Jones is threatening to fire radio reporters because they were doing their job, and Jerry can’t take the truth about what an awful job he did setting this team up for 2024.

Outside of the playoffs, because we know what type of pressure that is, this may be one of the biggest games that Mike McCarthy has coached for this team.

On a contract year sitting at 3-3 off the bye with the toughest part of your schedule on the way, you lose this game to a team who has one impactful player not on the injury report. It is not going to a good week.

San Francisco’s offense is top-ten in points per game, yards per play, and third down conversion. However, the Niners offense won’t be at full strength.

San Francisco’s defense has allowed a 46% conversion rate on third-down. That ranks 27th. The Dallas offense is top ten in 3rd down conversion.

I can feed you all the stats in the world, at the end of the day, this team has no excuse to lose on Sunday night.

It is going to be Brock Purdy and Ricky Pearsall as the no.1 guy for that offense. The Cowboys are still going to have CeeDee Lamb, Dak Prescott and guys like Jalen Tolbert who can at least catch the football.

You thought the heat was high in that place during the bye week, if they lose this game, McCarthy might become the first coach since Wade Phillips to let go. I am not kidding about that.
