The NFL season is still a long ways away, but that doesn't mean you can't get in on the gambling action right now.
DraftKings has released their odds for the 2021 division winners, naming the Dallas Cowboys as the favorite to win the NFC East. Dallas has +100 odds, meaning that if you bet $100, you will win $100.
“If not for the general malaise of the NFC East, the Cowboys would have quickly fallen out of playoff contention following Dak Prescott's leg injury early in the 2020 season. However, with Prescott reportedly on schedule to recover in time for training camp and the team expected to bring him back on the franchise tag or long-term deal, the Cowboys' outlook improves considerably.”
Behind the Cowboys, in order, are Washington, New York, and Philadelphia. At first glance, this definitely makes sense.
Washington is the reigning division winner, but they enter 2021 with a massive question mark at quarterback. They recently released veteran QB Alex Smith, and extended playoff sensation Taylor Heinicke. There's almost certainly another quarterback move to come for Washington before the season kicks off.
Neither the Giants nor the Eagles look to be legitimate threats this season either, though the draft could change things. New head coach Joe Judge had the Giants playing competitive football last season, but the Eagles look to be entering a total rebuild.
All three teams outside of Dallas have a massive need at quarterback, so as long as Dak Prescott is around and healthy, this should be the Cowboys division to lose.
