Free Agent WR Allen Hurns Plans to Sign With Cowboys

It looks as if the will be adding yet another wide receiver through . According to sources, Allen Hurns plans on with the Cowboys.

This is a move that seemed unlikely after the Cowboys signed a few days ago, but I know a lot of will be excited about this transaction.

Allen Hurns joins a receiver group that features , , , , , and the recently added Deonte Thompson.

While this move is exciting, it does create more confusion for the Cowboys and their wide receivers. It's difficult to imagine all of these WRs sticking to the roster, which means there will be some tough decisions that need to be made.

What will the Cowboys do with Dez Bryant?

Will Cole Beasley be cut or traded?

Are the Cowboys comfortable absorbing Terrance Williams' cap hit if traded or released?

Will this keep the Cowboys from drafting a WR early?

All of these questions and more will have to be answered eventually. But, one thing is for sure, things are definitely about to get interesting.

Of course, there is a bonus here for the Dallas Cowboys. Since Allen Hurns was released by the , he doesn't count against the Cowboys next season.

Please stay tuned and we will continue to keep you updated on contract details and any other news involving Allen Hurns as it becomes available.

What do you think about the Allen Hurns signing?

This is a guy who missed 1/3rd of each of the past two seasons but who’s stats are fairly similar to Dez. If I read the cap tracker right. ..cut Dez this year (guys at the Fan seem to think Dez has worn out his welcome), T Will next year. Take a WR this year. . . though doubt we now tab Ridley in round 1 but one of James Washington, DJ Chark in round 2 or Donte Pettis in round 3.

Or frankly, take a TE in round 2 or 3, someone who is a pass catcher, groom him to replace Whitten and drop James Hanna (nice cap savings)

There will likely be a lot of moving parts after signing Allen Hurns. It’s definitely going to be interesting to see how this all plays out.

That is the way it looks. I like it was a 2 year deal and the price is right for Hurns. Cowboys are building options. I think Dez stays this year because of the dead money, but it still could be an arm twister to restructure in some manner. TWill is fairly safe for the same reason- dead money. Beasley could be a casualty/trade during the draft. If the Boys draft a WR high, then you have to believe Dez is gone to make room for upcoming contracts with Dak. Yes, it went from nothing in FA to becoming very interesting.

After this I hope we can sign Golden Richards. That should work also… ;^)
