Hall of Fame QB calls out Mike McCarthy’s play calling

The Dallas Cowboys, fresh off a bye week, controlled the game last night for a half. They really had one decent drive the entire game.

Now, Monday morning, another Pro Football Hall of Famer is taking aim at the way that Mike McCarthy runs this offense.

A problem that the Dallas Cowboys have had the entire year is how the offense operates. It is bland, and feels like sandpaper, they do nothing well outside of CeeDee Lamb, and the criticism has gotten worse by the week.

After leading 10-6 at halftime last night, the Cowboys’ offense had a total of 15 yards in the third quarter.

The 49ers came out of the locker room and simply dominated the Cowboys, scoring 21 unanswered points, and once again, the Cowboys waited until it was too late to try and make a comeback.

Although they did have a chance to take the lead, once again Mike McCarthy’s offense, mustered 0 yards on the final drive.

Kurt Warner

Pro Football Hall of Famer, Kurt Warner took to twitter this morning to remind all of us of something we already know was a problem.

Mike McCarthy has the worst offense in football. He said, “Man, this Cowboys tape is a tough watch again… play design, details/execution (bc can’t be sure which it is), Dak not playing well, etc… it would be so frustrating watching that as an O!!!”

See the tweet below.

He is right though. The play design, the details, the execution is so bad. I can’t tell you how many times last night I saw Dak Prescott throw a pass to a spot on the field where TWO guys were standing. Looking like they had no idea what was going on.

Like, how does this continue to happen?

First it was Troy Aikman calling the Cowboys wide receivers lazy and not running great routes, then Jerry Jones the owner and GM, called out Mike McCarthy last week, now Warner.

Something has to give, right?

The Cowboys returned from their bye and didn’t look a whole lot better for most of the game than they did in a 47-9 loss at home to Detroit two weeks ago.

Prescott threw two interceptions for a third straight game — the first Cowboys quarterback to do that in 32 years — and struggled to generate any consistent offense until the fourth quarter.

Kurt is correct in saying Dak is not playing well, but look at what this offense is doing. Nobody can get open, they can’t run the ball, it is so bad!

Starting To Unravel

This team is starting to unravel from everything. The defense can’t stop a cold, the offense has like 4 good drives a game, and after last night, Trevon Diggs, a leader on this team couldn’t hold back.

Mike Leslie tweeted during the game asking what Diggs was doing on a play due to his lack of effort and Diggs wasted zero time, to find it on Twitter and say something still in uniform.

“That’s what you took from that?” Diggs said. “Out of that whole play, that’s what you took from that? You don’t know football. You can’t do nothing that I do. You can’t go out there and do nothing. Stay in your lane, buddy. Stop trying me, dog.”

“Just asking the question, Trevon,” Leslie said. “I mean, I’m happy to have you answer the question.”

Check out the tweet below.

The moral of the story is I have never seen this much going on with a team since Dak took over.

They are broken, can’t fix it, and others like Kurt Warner are seeing it just like us fans. At what point in time does Jerry have enough?

This sucks to watch every single week, it is not even enjoyable anymore.
