After filling three of their needs on Day One and Day Two, the Dallas Cowboys stayed on the offensive side of the ball after selecting South Alabama WR Jalen Tolbert in the previous round and drafted Wisconsin TE Jake Ferguson with the 129th Pick.
Entering this year’s draft, some people argued that the franchise could put off selecting a TE given they have TE Dalton Schultz on the team, but with his future cloudy–the club pulled the trigger on Ferguson.
For the fans who don’t know much about him, you can expect to see a player who’s very similar to Schultz, and with this selection–it’s likely the franchise would feel comfortable moving on from Schultz next offseason. While I’m not advocating for Ferguson to start right away, it should be interesting to see if he will beat out TEs Sean McKeon and Jeremy Sprinkle for the TE2 gig.
