Report: Cowboys LB Keanu Neal Placed on Reserve/COVID List, Status vs Eagles Uncertain

The were without , , and in Week 1 as well as in Week 2 due to them being placed on the Reserve/COVID list. Unfortunately, they could be without another player in Week 3.

According to Michael Gehlken of the , Keanu Neal has been placed on the Reserve/COVID list, making his status uncertain for the Cowboy’s big East showdown with the on Monday.

Neal didn’t test positive for COVID but he is a high-risk contact, and being that isn’t fully vaccinated, he has to enter the protocol. He will need two negative tests separated by 24 hours to be taken off the list.

The former Florida Gator made the switch from playing the position, which he played under Cowboys for five seasons with the (2016-2020), to linebacker with the Cowboys. So far in 2021, he’s played 74% of the team’s defensive snaps (101) and logged nine tackles (one for loss).

Gregory will make his return against the Eagles but if Neal can’t go the Cowboys are built to handle his absence with , , , and on the .

  2. Hey Jon couldn’t agree with you more! I just don’t want anyone to get this mess !! I took it that Joeb was saying that because Neal didn’t take the shot and he was put Reserved C19 then that’s what he deserves! If I’m wrong then I apologize but if not it takes a person with no class to wish anything bad on another person during this China flu pandemic!

  3. Cowboy Fan Ed, I would not say it in the way JoeB did but if Neal hasn’t taken the vaccine that’s his choice. I’m 50 yrs old and I work in a prison and I’m around several that are sick. Call it Covid call it the Flu, but it’s not for you or #RogerDogerGoodell to say that Neal or any other player MUST take a vaccine. #MyBodyMyChoice
