Week 8 Injury Report: 1 Cowboy expected to play despite missed practices

The Dallas Cowboys return from the bye week with a trip to Santa Clara to take on the 49ers.

This Sunday Night game is going to be between two teams who are a combined 6-and-7, probably not what most thought.

They are also the two teams whose IR and injury reports are probably better than the active roster that they will be touting out there in prime time on NBC.

Dallas Cowboys

No Designation:

  • LB Marist Liufau (Shoulder)
  • K Brandon Aubrey (Jury Duty)
  • WR Ryan Flournoy (Ankle)

Carson being back will help a bit, but Brandon Aubrey missed practice this week because of Jury Duty in Dallas. He got selected to a case right in the middle of the NFL season and did his own kicking on the side.

So, as long as the Cowboys can get to the 50-yard line, they will have a chance for points with him in the lineup.

Ryan Flournoy might need some tick with Brandin Cooks still on IR, and who knows what they are going to get with Jalen Tolbert.

Questionable:

  • LB Eric Kendricks (Shoulder)
  • CB Caelen Carson (Shoulder)
  • LB Nick Vigil (Foot)

This team has got to get a win on Sunday because if they don’t, this thing is going to go south in a hurry. They may not even win one of their next five games at this rate.

Nick Vigil trending in wrong direction/questionable. At this point, any healthy body is better than what they are putting out there.

Getting Eric Kendricks back will be a bonus for a defense that always struggles with the 49ers, and getting back the guy who wears the green dot and calls the plays will at least help for now.

Out:

  • EDGE Micah Parsons (Ankle)
  • CB DaRon Bland (Foot)
  • DT Jordan Phillips (Wrist)
  • TE John Stephens jr (Knee)

Micah Parsons and DaRon Bland both being ruled out for this week is not a huge surprise, but Bland must of had a big setback because he practiced in full twice this week.

He only has 5 days left on his 21-day practice window.

The only good news for the Cowboys is that the 49ers will be without most of their offensive talent on Sunday Night.

49ERS

The 49ers are coming off a loss to the Chiefs, and boy does their injury report look just as bad if not worse than the Dallas Cowboys.

No Designation:

  • RB Jordan Mason (Ankle)
  • Nick Bosa (Elbow)
  • Trent Williams (Rest)

We already knew that most of these guys were out, but Deebo and Mason possibly being able to play does not bold well for Dallas.

Questionable

  • WR Deebo Samuel (Illness)
  • George Kittle (Foot)

Out:

  • RB Christian McCaffrey
  • WR Jauan Jennings (Hip)
  • Jake Moody (Ankle)
  • Kevin Givens (Groin)

This Sunday night will be the battle of the injury reports. This game is going to be gross, and honestly, just based on the head coaches, the 49ers will probably win this game, because I don’t trust Mike McCarthy.

If this team comes out of the bye week injured or not and does not show up and has a slow start, something will need to change. Jerry Jones keeps talking, but won’t do anything.

It is getting hard to watch him say nothing is wrong, and he believes in his guys. Like, are we watching the same teams?

The season is on the line for both of these teams on Sunday night. The Cowboys will neither be one game over or under .500 and looking up at two teams in the NFC East.

The 49ers, with a loss, will be looking at a 3-5 start, and with the Rams getting healthy, they will not win the NFC West this season.
