The game against Bears in week eight should be a snooze fest, correct? This certainly could be a “trap game” for Dallas. Many would consider the Bears to be in a rebuild, with a first-year and a second-year , but the Cowboys better not get ahead of themselves and rush into their bye week, which comes the following week.

Justin Fields was drafted in the first round in 2021 by the Bears and heads into his second season. Fields and David Montgomery will be featured very heavily in the running game if the Cowboys still haven't found a solution at this point in the season to slow it down.

I compare this game to the Broncos' loss at home last season, a game the Cowboys should have won, and many might agree. I feel that Dallas overlooked Denver at home, and they paid the price. They got blown out. The Cowboys were 6-1 and were probably looking ahead to the following week.

I don't think anyone expects the Bears to compete in this contest, but we know how the NFL goes. Games like these happen to most teams, and with the Cowboys heading into their bye week the following week, I hope it is not a game that leaves us wondering how they lost.

Dallas should be 5-2 when they roll into the last game of October and take on Chicago. They need to win this game as after the bye (week nine), they head on the road for back-to-back games against GreenBay and Minnesota. Those two games could be tricky.

In conclusion, this SCREAMS trap game. Until we see Fields with a quality supporting cast, the Cowboys should not have a problem pulling away and winning this football game. We may find it closer than it should be for a few quarters, but my prediction is 28-13, and the Cowboys roll into their bye week.
