3 keys to Cowboys victory against the Texans this Sunday

Texans

We have made it to Friday and the Dallas Cowboys will look to get back in the win column against a 0-3 Texans team that has looked very subpar so far this year.

Still, the Texans are in must-win mode just like the Cowboys are, and the battle of Texas seems to have a little bit more meaning when both teams were expected to be good and are struggling early in the year.

I think the Cowboys have been more consistent on offense. We know it is their defense that has been struggling, as for the Texans, they have been up and down on both sides of the ball to start the year and I think the Cowboys should dive into these three things below, and they should have a good chance to come out on top this Sunday.

“It is a disaster. The Cowboys are going to be able to really do a lot up the middle…”

Attack Early

The Texans pass rush is still excellent, but the guys that the Cowboys have outside should allow them to slow it down.

Anderson and Hunter are more than enough to cause problems for Dak Prescott and the offense.

If the Cowboys are going to win this game, Tyler Guyton and Terence Steele need to be at their absolute best. The coaching staff also needs to have creative ways of keeping them away from their quarterback. If not, things can get ugly in a hurry.

You heard what I said, the coaching staff, who seem to have something to prove after the way they helped lose that game last week in RIO. The Cowboys outplayed the Ravens and yet found a new way to lose the game. Something they have been doing for 30 years.

I would like to see the offense get the ball first, either way, regardless if they win the toss or not, attack that defense and put the pressure on them early.

Make CJ Beat You

Yup, if you did not hear the Dallas Cowboys traded for Joey Porter Jr. on Wednesday night, I am not sure how much he will play or if he can even get up to speed enough, but I would do anything and everything to make CJ beat you.

New Cowboys CB Joey Porter Jr. on why he would play without a contract in Dallas vs. standing off with over it in Pittsburgh:

“It was the value. I didn’t feel like it was really that over there. [Dallas] is showing me that they value me more over here. That’s really all I need

Yes, 1000 times yes, I understand that the Cowboys are not good on the back end, and they are hurt, but CJ has not been good dating back to last year. He has struggled, making him beat you is the best thing to do.

Load the box, create havoc, something, you can’t just give him all day, someone will get open. Nico Collins expects to be back after missing the last two games, so that is big for them, but still, make that dude be the reason they beat you.

Coaches, Be Better

Brian Schottenheimer, Christian Parker, please, for the love of everything we enjoy, come out and look like you coached these players this week.

Can’t be unprepared, can’t get stuck in the moment. As soon as the Texans start adjusting to the game, don’t get stuck in the mud, that is what happens all the time.

Even if you get off to an early start, don’t stick to the script, find ways to be the coach you are supposed to be.

These next three games are ones that Dallas should find a way to win, even against the Packers in two weeks. None of these teams are not really good right now, and the way that the NFC East is looking to shape out, if they can somehow find a way to just be below average on defense.

Brian Schottenheimer has been the head coach of the #Cowboys for 20 games.

His teams have allowed 34+ points in 8 of those games.

40%.

They have forced five punts in the first three games. That is horrible, it is the same number of times that the offense has punted, as the offense is scoring over 60% of the time.

Everything needs to be better and these three things should help them get back to .500 on Sunday.
