Cowboys @ Commanders: How to watch, listen, and more

The Dallas Cowboys and Washington Commanders meet this Sunday in another classic NFC East clash, and both teams are fighting to steer their seasons back on track.

The Cowboys, sitting in the middle of the pack, have been plagued by inconsistency; one week looking like contenders, the next struggling to find rhythm on either side of the ball.

The Commanders, led by QB Jayden Daniels, have also faced their share of growing pains.

Despite showing flashes of potential, they’ve yet to fully find their offensive identity, especially during Jayden Daniels’ absence due to injury.

With a victory, either team would move into second place in the NFC East behind the Philadelphia Eagles.

As always, these matchups tend to bring out the unexpected. So, in that spirit, here are bold predictions for Sunday’s game.

These may sound far-fetched at first glance, but they’re rooted in statistical trends and historical matchups that make them plausible.

When the clock hits all zeroes, the Cowboys will have “command” vs Washington.

NFC East begins season with a split decision 1

Jayden Daniels Throws For 350

This prediction is bold, no doubt about it.

Jayden Daniels has yet to eclipse 233 passing yards in a game this season, a mark he set all the way back in Week 1 against the New York Giants.

Since then, Washington’s offense has leaned heavily on short passes, designed rollouts, and read-options to keep Daniels comfortable.

However, if there’s ever a defense that could allow Daniels to break out through the air, it’s the Dallas Cowboys.

The once-feared Cowboys defense has fallen off dramatically, allowing explosive plays at an alarming rate.

Their secondary, particularly the safeties, has struggled to contain deep threats and tight ends over the middle.

If the Commanders’ offensive line can give Daniels just enough time to set his feet, he has the arm talent and mobility to exploit mismatches.

Expect him to connect on a few chunk plays, potentially hitting Luke McCaffery or Deebo Samuel for deep gains en route to his first 300-yard performance.

Pickens Gets a Hat Trick

Now we’re diving into real bold territory.

George Pickens catching three touchdowns would be a career day for the young receiver, who has only recorded multiple touchdowns in a game twice in his NFL career, and never three.

The challenge? CeeDee Lamb is expected to return to the lineup this week, likely reclaiming his status as the Cowboys’ top target and reducing Pickens’ volume from previous weeks.

However, if the Commanders’ secondary keys in on Lamb, that could open the door for Pickens to feast on single coverage.

Pickens’ size, body control, and contested-catch ability make him a nightmare near the goal line, and QB Dak Prescott has shown growing trust in him on back-shoulder throws.

If Dallas’ offense finds itself in rhythm early, don’t be surprised if Pickens ends up with a stat line that raises eyebrows across the league.

Dallas Hits Another 40-Burger

The Commanders’ defense has been quietly solid this year, allowing just 21.0 points per game and never surrendering more than 34 points in a single contest, but this week could be different.

With Lamb back, Prescott rediscovering confidence, and Javonte Williams heating up on the ground, Dallas finally has its offensive weapons aligned at the same time.

Add in home-field energy and Washington’s tendency to wear down in the second half, and this could be the breakout performance the Cowboys’ offense has been waiting for.

If Dallas can avoid turnovers and sustain drives, 40 points isn’t out of the question, it’s the kind of bold statement game this team desperately needs.

Bold predictions are meant to sound a tad outrageous, but sometimes, football has a funny way of turning the improbable into the inevitable.

If even one of these comes true, Sunday’s matchup could be one of the wildest chapters yet in the Cowboys-Commanders rivalry.

“Inconsistent” is the word for this season. It’s still early, but his game feels like a “MUST WIN” to me. Division games are very hard to predict, and hopefully they can pull it out.

I thought this was an article from last year…. It says Washington has a rookie QB, and then it says he’ll have Terry and Deebo to throw to, but unless things changed today, both Terry and Deebo haven’t been practicing, so there’s a good chance that neither one of them will be playing in this game!! But who knows, maybe they will!!

Now the bold predictions…. I don’t think us scoring 40 points in this game is a very bold prediction…. We’ve scored 40 points in pretty much every home game this season, and we did it to Green Bay, so I don’t think it’ll be too hard to do it to Washington, especially if we’re playing at home!!

And there’s no guarantee we’ll have Lamb back in this game!! I know he’s practiced this week, but it’s only been limited so far, so until he practices in full, I’m not gonna get my hopes up on him playing yet!! And then you said with Javonte Williams heating up…. The last time I checked, he’s been heated up since week 1!! He had a bad game against Carolina, but other than that, he’s been on fire all season!!

And then the Pickens hat trick…. That one is an actual bold prediction!! He don’t have any problems getting receptions and yards, or even a touchdown in a game…. He’s scored a touchdown in every game the past 6 weeks, but I don’t know about getting 3 of them in one game!! Especially since Jake Ferguson is one that gets a lot of targets and Javonte Williams gets quite a few carries in the red zone!! But that’s why this is a real bold prediction!! I don’t think the other 2 are very bold, but this one is!! But I guess we’ll have to see what happens Sunday!!
