Breaking: Kellen Moore out as Cowboys OC

The time for rejoicing has come for most fans as Offensive Coordinator Kellen Moore is gone.

After a poor performance against the San Francisco 49ers in the divisional round of the 2022 NFL Playoffs, it seems that the Cowboys have had enough of Moore’s playcalling.

Kellen Moore has been the Cowboys’ offensive coordinator since 2019.

The chemistry between him and coaching the Cowboys has been rough since his arrival. Many fans were very upset with him this season and have been for quite some time.

About a week ago, Moore interviewed with the Carolina Panthers for their head coaching vacancy. This caused many fans to jump with joy at the fact that he may be gone.

With no news following those interviews, fans projected that he would be staying another year.

This is until Head Coach Mike McCarthy fired six coaches from his staff a few days ago. News like this made fans turn their heads yet again, making them think that Moore is next on the chopping block.

To all our delight, he was. He has now been released and will be looking for another job in the upcoming months.

At this rate, I do not know what team would hire him. With poor skills revolving around his choices and playcalling, it’s hard to know what the future holds for Moore.

College would be the next step in his career according to me. He has the potential to become a good coach someday, but rejecting that Boise State job a few years ago may have cost him.

Kellen Moore had the opportunity to be a coach at his alma mater, Boise State, before accepting the job at Dallas. Looking back at this decision, It seems Kellen would have been better off coaching a college team rather than jumping straight into the NFL.

For now, wherever this man goes, it will no longer be a burden for fans. The Cowboys are free from Moore and will be moving on now. So long Moore… So long.

Tony you just made my night! Kellen Moore is on his way out of Dallas!!! Wow!!!!! I can hardly believe this great news. I’ve been calling for his head for what seems like forever, and finally it’s being done. I concur with you 100% that the Boise State job was the one for him and not Offensive Coordinator for the Cowboys. He’s a hero at that school and the expectations wouldn’t have been nothing like down in Dallas. I can’t see him in the NFL again anytime in the near future unless it’s right back in Dallas. Remember Brett Maher? The person who should be the happiest is Dak Prescott. The decision to fire Moore will give us all a more clearer picture of Prescott and if it was Moore’s play calling or his lack of ability to lead this team going forward. The front office made the decision to remove Moore and it may be faced with trying to move Prescott as well. Time will tell us all we need to know about that. Once again, GREAT NEWS!!!!!

HAHA, I was sure you’d get a good kick out of this one Lawrence. Just heard he took the job opening at the Chargers. Very surprising that they would hire him. Although Kellen is gone, not all of the Cowboys’ problems have been solved. I am very eager to see what will come next for the team. A great start however to our offseason. GO, COWBOYS!

Hello Tony! You’re spot on as it pertains to Moore’s departure solving all the problems in Dallas, but it’s certainly a great start. Like you, I was stunned that the Chargers would hire Kellen Moore. I didn’t think any NFL team would hire him for any position. Now I’ll be interested to see if his play calling changes or improves. Justin Herbert is head and shoulders above Dak Prescott as an NFL starting quarterback. Maybe the things he wanted Dak to do, Herbert will be able to execute. Nevertheless I won’t miss him running Elliott up the middle on 1st down for no gain, and then a stupid trick play for a 5 or 6 yard loss, and then Prescott trying to convert 3rd and long constantly. Good Bye And Good Riddance!!!!

The Cowboys will take a step backwards. With new coaches at OC-offensive line-and running back positions. It’s going to take time for the offense to get into rhythm. Dak is what he is after 7 years in the league. Both Dak and McCarthy will be on the hit seat next season. Jerry will be evaluating both. Jerry’s golden boy Moore, who he convince not to take the head coaching job at Boise State a couple years ago. Had to sign off on everything McCarthy wanted. The Cowboys can start over after 2024 when the organization let him walk. If they don’t make it to the NFC Championship game in 2024-25. With Dan Quinn in the wings to be the next head coach. Next two seasons in Dallas will be very interested, with McCarthy and Dak’s heads on the chopping block in 2023.

Y’all still drinking that Kool Aid after 27 years. Who has been running this dumpster fire for the last 27 years? Just classless for JJ to put this out on Championship Sunday. Why? Because his cowboys have been made irrelevant yet again. How about winning a championship or 2 in the last 27 years. Shoot he still crying about how he couldn’t get Romo a title. Wake up people and start looking at the top of this so called organization. I’ll probably get banned now for spitting the hard facts.

Sorry to see Kellen go. But I and the rest of his fans will happily follow him wherever he goes. His coaching and play calling skills has kept the Cowboys at the top of the NFL’s production stats for the last 3 years. Too bad some of the players couldn’t handle the big games. Oh well, maybe next year.

While Kellen provided some great play calls here and there, it just wants enough to keep up with the Cowboys. If you are gonna be the coach of the Dallas Cowboys you better know how to win big games. Moore struggled a lot with those. I am not a full-on hater of Moore and I belive he has a brighter future ahead of him, but for now, I am excited to see what is next for the Cowboys.

Well Tony it wasn’t long, as it looks like Moore may already have a new gig with the Chargers. Be curious to see what he does with Hebert, who probably has a better future than his ex QB. This may shine some light on if the problem was Moore or….

I am the same way. I don’t know what to expect with him coaching over Herbert but we’ll all see. I don’t think Moore was the MAIN problem though. There are still some jokers hanging around the Cowboys but I am hoping they will be flushed out sooner or later.

@Vam I think it’s gonna suck cuz I mean it’s Herbert, and the chargers are bound to start having success, so I imagine Moore will look like a stud OC, which’ll mean more hate will be thrown at us by all the haters for letting him go
