In a normal offseason we’d all be preparing to watch and learn more about some this year’s top prospects at the NFL Scouting Combine, but this is anything but a normal offseason. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic just about all in person workouts have been shut down, including the Scouting Combine. That’s not great news as it relates to the evaluation process.
Without these tools scouts and draft analysts are going to have to rely heavily on film more than they probably have at any point in recent history. As such, we might not see as much change in how these players are ranked right now and on Draft Day in April. With that in mind, I thought I’d share with you my Top 10 players at each position.
Today, we will look at the tight end position.

I really feel like jarwin getting Injured showed the true worth of Schultz. Schultz is the better blocker and is basically bargain version of Jason witten. No, he’s not Jason witten but I feel like he could be a more total package where jarwin is more of just a take the top off a defense seam catching reciever. Schultz would be another hard 6 or 7 yard 3rd down bruising TE outlet to get the first down. I have a hinch that after this season we’re gonna wish Schultz got the contract jarwin did.
Side note Brian… How do you feel about a cheap trade for Sam darnold? If it was possible for one of our late compensatory picks and a late rounder next year. Esp if the dak deal doesn’t come to fruition before the franchise tag deadline. I really liked him at usc but obviously he was drafted by the jets where QB’s basically go to rot. Like the Browns before Mayfield the last 20 yrs.
Shultz was definitely a pleasant surprise once he received the Lions share of the snaps at TE. I think Blake Jarwin could have the same kind of breakout season in 2021. The Cowboys really don’t know yet exactly what they have in Jarwin.
I think any team that trades for Darnold will likely have to give up what the Colts did to trade for Carson Wentz. I don’t think the Cowboys are going to get that that kind of draft capital.
