In a normal offseason we’d all be preparing to watch and learn more about some this year’s top prospects at the NFL Scouting Combine, but this is anything but a normal offseason. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic just about all in person workouts have been shut down, including the Scouting Combine. That’s not great news as it relates to the evaluation process.
Without these tools scouts and draft analysts are going to have to rely heavily on film more than they probably have at any point in recent history. As such, we might not see as much change in how these players are ranked right now and on Draft Day in April. With that in mind, I thought I’d share with you my Top 10 players at each position.
Today, we will take a look at the linebacker position.
POSITIONAL RANKINGS
OFFENSE: QB | RB | WR | TE | IOL | OT
PLAYER | POS | SCHOOL | |
---|---|---|---|
1. | Micah Parsons | LB | Penn State |
2. | Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah | LB | Notre Dame |
3. | Nick Bolton | LB | Missouri |
4. | Zaven Collins | LB | Tulsa |
5. | Chazz Surratt | LB | North Carolina |
6. | Jabril Cox | LB | LSU |
7. | Jamin Davis | LB | Kentucky |
8. | Baron Browning | LB | Ohio State |
9. | Cameron McGrone | LB | Michigan |
10. | Pete Werner | LB | Ohio State |
If Pete werner or baron Browning were there in the 4th I would jump all over it. 3rd might be pushing it.
Do we have a game changer on defense right now? NO. M Parsons appears to be that type of player. Second choice, Z Collins.
Vam…. Micah Parsons is gonna be just another Jaylon Smith…. I know I’ve said it before but apparently some people just don’t pay attention to his highlights!! Mark my words, he won’t be no game changer!! And in case you haven’t noticed, he’s fell down a lot of draft boards cause for one, people realized he’s not gonna be as good as they thought and 2 he’s immature and has had off the field problems too!! I’ll be one of plenty that’ll be pissed if we draft him!!
And I’d rather wait until the 2nd or 3rd round and draft Jabril Cox before I drafted Micah Parsons
Cowboys fan, we just have a difference of opinion on Parsons. I agree with the possible immaturity issue. I read couple things about that. Don’t sweat it too much, we’ll probably pick a CB in first anyway. No
Would rather draft Parsons then one of the CBs none of whom are considered elite. We have several positions of need and should get the defensive player who we consider the most impactful. I like Cox but not in the 2nd rd. In the 3rd rd they should consider COX/COLLINS/BOLTON
First off he’s not gonna be another J Smith , why ? Cuz he ain’t slow like Smith , 4.4 40 time , the guy is a freak , although yes there are Immaturity issues , how many college kids do you know that are mature or were mature when they went to college ?
Maturity is an issue for any players coming out of college outside of like QBs but even they could have immaturity problems i.e Baker Mayfield , the guy was immature at OU , was immature his first 2 or 3 seasons in the league , now he seems to have matured some now
Maturity from a college plays isn’t any breaking news or something ppl don’t already know barring outliers
“Immaturity”
If I was a Coach , I’d rather deal with a player who’s immature but has got talent than I would deal with someone who’s injury prone , or lacks ability
You can fix maturity , you can’t fix a talentless or a injury prone player
Tag Dak; then trade package of Dak, Gallup, #10 pick to Jets for #2 pick, Darnold(bridge qb) and 2nd or 3rd rounder. Then draft BYU qb, then CB, WR, S, DL, OL, LB. Solves cap issues for years to come and you can pay your Defense.
