I knew CeeDee Lamb had a hell of a game against Houston, but I didn’t know I could take his stat line and cross entire NFL offenses off the list.
Lamb caught 17 passes for 189 yards on Sunday. I found five teams finished with less receptions, and seven finished with fewer receiving yards. The Chargers were able to tie him in yardage, so congratulations to them for needing their whole team to keep up with one guy.
And then we have Philadelphia. We will get to them in a minute, because their comparison to CeeDee Lamb deserves their own section.

CeeDee Lamb Outcaught Five Entire Teams
Here is Lamb’s total compared with five NFL teams from Sunday:
This is every receiver, tight end, and running back counting towards the team totals. The Jets could have doubled their catches and still would have finished behind CeeDee.
I know teams approach games with different game plans, especially if you’re running the ball well, you don’t need to spend the afternoon throwing it. Did Lamb single-handedly have a better offense than Kansas City? No.
But the 17 receptions is a lot of chances for a defense to figure it out. Houston kept letting Dallas go back to CeeDee, and I’m glad they didn’t get bored with what was working like against Baltimore.

The Receiving Yards List Is Even Longer
CeeDee Lamb finished ahead of these seven teams in receiving yards:
I didn’t put them on the list, but the Chargers matched CeeDee Lamb’s total with 189 yards. I expected a couple of teams to fall below him. Seven is a lot more than I would have guessed, especially with another team matching his number.

Philadelphia Brought a Whole Offense for That?
The Eagles had 93 receiving yards and 172 total yards; CeeDee had 189. Philadelphia could have played the same game twice, put both receiving numbers together, and still would have needed another completion to catch him.
They dressed an entire offense, brought their whole playbook, and spent four quarters producing less than half of what one Cowboys’ receiver did. I don’t want to hear a word about Dallas needing CeeDee too much from a fan base whose whole passing game needed a second Sunday.
I know Eagles fans aren’t usually short on something to say about Dallas, but I would sit this one out. Your whole team had 93 receiving yards. CeeDee more than doubled that while catching the touchdown that won his team the game.

Dallas Still Needed Lamb’s Last Catch
CeeDee Lamb’s 17th reception was the 12-yard touchdown with 40 seconds left that gave Dallas its 34-30 win.
He finished with more catches and yards than the rest of the Cowboys combined. Everybody else had 15 receptions for 146 yards.
There was a little help from Jake Ferguson, who converted the fourth down on the final possession. Thank goodness he finally decided to show up for a game. That was followed by George Pickens’ 22-yard catch.
I know those don’t rank up there with what Lamb accomplished, but without those plays the Cowboys stayed below 500 for the season.
I’ve complained plenty about Dallas this season. I don’t know, besides the first half, that there is much to complain about when CeeDee is out here catching 17 passes. Dak kept going to him, and it kept paying off. Why go somewhere different?
I like that when the Cowboys needed somebody to step up and finish the game, Dak and CeeDee stepped up and showed out for the photo finish.
George Pickens showed up last season when CeeDee was having an off year. This year we are going to flip the script, and hopefully we will get to see both of these guys firing on all cylinders on Thursday night.
