The 2024 NFL free agency is off to a horrible start for the Dallas Cowboys.
They have made one signing, Eric Kendricks. Dallas signed him to a one-year deal yesterday after committing to the 49ers first.
Cowboys, new defensive Mike Zimmer coached Kendricks when he was the head coach of the Vikings years ago, that could be the main reason he signed with Dallas.
Kendricks was released by Los Angeles as a salary cap casualty March 5 after joining the team on a two-year, $13.25 million contract prior to the 2023 season. He finished second on the team with 117 tackles last season.

One CeeDee Lamb Injury Away
The Cowboys have yet to sign a running back to replace Tony Pollard, who left for the Tennessee Titans on the first day of free agency.
I am sure they will end up drafting one, but that isn’t enough.
With that being said, this is the main point of this post.
The Dallas Cowboys are ONE injury away from CeeDee Lamb, and this offense will turn into a disaster.

Brandin Cooks is not a No. 1 guy anymore. Michael Gallup looks to be on the way out the door, the team has permitted him to seek a trade, and if they don’t find one to take his contract he will be a post-June-1 cut.
He finished the season with 135 catches, 1,749 yards, 12 receiving touchdowns, and two rushing touchdowns.
Lamb’s 135 receptions are the fifth-most in a single season, and his 1,749 yards ranks him seventh all-time.
Lamb did break the single season record for catches and yards in a single season in 2023. It was held by the Playmaker, Michael Irvin since the mid 90s.
CeeDee is expected to get a new contract from Dallas, and it is going to be huge, yet if he goes down at any point in the 2024 season, this offense is done for.
The #Cowboys haven't done much — true.
Also true: The #Cowboys never do much in the first wave of FA.
Also very true: The #Cowboys have to pay Dak Prescott, CeeDee Lamb, and Micah Parsons — and all three could get market-resetting contracts. Dak's situation is especially… https://t.co/PFuVVGxaGR pic.twitter.com/rG7S3vSzn6

Drafting Isn’t Enough
Drafting another wide receiver at some point this draft is not going to help them.
Plenty of free agents were out there to be had, and they have made a move on ONE player.
They have no running game. They will need to draft two offensive linemen to replace Tyron Smith and Tyler Biadasz. The first is likely to come with their 24th overall pick, and then maybe another in the 3rd or 4th round.
Regardless of competition, Dak Prescott played like an MVP for most of the season, and even got a vote, yet that was much to the help of Lamb.
Both the offense and the defense was not good against above average teams, including the playoffs.
Jalen Tolbert out snapped Gallup in like three games in 2023, but he isn’t enough to help change a game.

I am still holding out hope that this team is going to try and do what they did a year ago, and trade for another guy like Cooks.
The Eagles got better, the Commanders got better, and what did the Cowboys do? Got worse.
The Jones family has and always be the problem at the star. They have done nothing to make this team better after claiming to be “all-in,” in 2024.
They lost Pollard, Biadasz, Dorance Armstrong, Dante Folwer and Neville Gallimore. Others I am sure are to follow.
This team has me so checked out right now that I had to start thinking about what this offense would look like if they lost Lamb to injury in 2024.
This team is about to turn into a total disaster on offense if something happens to Lamb. If this team wanted to go into a full rebuild, I wish they would have started by not keeping Mike McCarthy.
all the sports media groups must realize that no matter what he says he has very little to spend during free agency the N.F.L. 2024 draft and H.B.C.U. is the cheapest and only way Jerry Jones can fill holes and I wish Mike Zimmer good luck working with Jerry Jones
What a load of crap this whole write up is. The 49ers are one CMC or even Deebo injury away from a disaster.
The Chiefs are one Mahomes injury away from a disaster. Most teams are one injury away if it is the right player.
This constant overly dramatic Cowboys fan BS is getting ridiculous. Grow up and act like adults. This is a 3 year 12-5 team. Appreciate that and stop your whining. If not, move on to one of the many teams who haven’t even sniffed the playoffs in years. I’m sure the Jets can use some support. But they were one injury away from disaster last year. And it happened. Guess it can happen to anyone.
hey no prob everyone is expendable here.

The offense has been Dak, Receivers catch the ball thrown to them and Ceedee had few to none outstanding catches last year where it was Ceedee making a low percentage catch. In fact, Ceedee had a poor year for drops. Ceedee benefited from Dak continuing to throw him the ball. Part of that Ceedee year was that Gallop and Cook were so bad that Dak simply had to scramble until Ceedee got open. Fergusen made some great catches and was the real #2 receiver. Ceedee is a good receiver but on his own, he drops way too many passes and is not a Hopkins who at his prime caught anything he touched.
