The Dallas Cowboys already have either the first or second-best duo at the wide receiver position in all of the football, with the Bengals being the only team with an argument to be better.
A lot of talk on the offense is about Dak Prescott, CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens, but I tell you what, Ryan Flournoy is flooding my timeline on Twitter every single day with play after play.
If one guy was to break out this season not on the defensive side to take them to another level, it would be Ryan.
Three 1K Wide Receivers?
The Cowboys had a chance to do it in 2020 with Lamb (935), Michael Gallup (843) and Amari Cooper (1,114), but the trio came up just short.
Lamb and Pickens were both 1,000-yard receivers a year ago, and call me crazy, but I think the Dallas Cowboys could become the sixth team in NFL history to have three guys go over 1K yards receiving in the same year.
The most recent happened in 2008, over 15 years ago.
The first was done in 1980 by the San Diego Chargers. Kellen Winslow is the only other tight end on this list. His other two teammates were John Jefferson and Charlie Joiner.
In 1989, the Washington Redskins did it. Gary Clark, Art Monk and Ricky Sanders. The Atlanta Falcons then did it in 1995 with Eric Metcalf, Terance Mathis and Bert Emanuel.
A team finally broke onto the scene in 2004 when Reggie Wayne, Marvin Harris and Brandon Stokley all had over 1k, and finally, the last time it was accomplished was in 2008 and what a TRIO of guys this was. Larry Fitzgerald, Anquan Boldin and Steve Breaston.
Flournoy only started 4 games a year ago. Although he played in 16, he will be featured much more in 2026. He finished the year with 40 catches for 475 yards and 4 touchdowns.
I think he could double that yard mark, and that would put him at 950. So honestly, the Dallas offense has a great chance to make this happen.
The Dallas Cowboys offense will be good again in 2026 and this won’t mean anything if they don’t make the playoffs. The defense will still struggle on the backend just a bit, but overall, they got better and if you say they didn’t, we can agree to disagree.

On camp this year as WR3 compared to last year as WR6:

He is making it easier for me to trust him if Lamb or Pickens were to miss any games this season, whereas in years past, I don’t think I would have much confidence in the next man up, but I really do think that all the attention that Lamb and GP are going to bring it could set Ryan up to help the Cowboys become the 6th team in NFL history to have three guys go over the 1K yard mark receiving.
All of these pass catchers and we have hardly talked about Jake Ferguson, the offense is going to be just fine again this season. If the defense can be even average, this team will have no issues with making the playoffs.
Long way to go this summer, so hopefully they avoid any type of injuries, but a couple of things that have jumped out so far in camp is what Ryan is doing and the impact that Caleb Downs has already made on this defense and if they can continue to do all of those things, I have a lot more faith than I did even after the draft.
Best offseason so far in a long time, but it has to translate to when it matters the most, starting in September.
