As you can tell by the name of this post, the Dallas Cowboys offense did not have many issues from a year ago, but one thing that stuck out is that the offensive line led the entire NFL in offensive penalties.
It mainly came from two of the starters, but when you average 27 points a game because you had to score with the worst defense in football, you are going to be on the field a lot, so that is the only thing that someone could argue about.
Outside of that, the defense got better, so the offensive line under Brian Schottenheimer in year two should be better with the hiring of Klayton Adams. He is the offensive coordinator, but won’t call plays.
He comes from the Arizona Cardinals, but Adams is a very good coach.
Biggest Issues
When you take a look at Pro Football Focus, the Cowboys OL led the league with a total of 133 penalties.
The biggest issue is clearly Tyler Guyton and Ternece Steele. Guyton had 7 and Steele had 6. Both of them, as of right now, are projected to be on the starting line once again this year, and they need Guyton to make a year three leap.

As of now, the projected starters look to be LT Tyler Guyton, LG Tyler Smith, C Cooper Beebe, RG Tyler Booker, and RT Terence Steele.
I am a huge fan of Beebe, and Booker and Smith, but the others are an issue.
Steele had one good year, got paid and now has not been very good at all. It is right on par with what happens with these players. The Cowboys pay average guys a lot of money, and they fall off a cliff. DaRon Bland is another, who just can’t stay healthy.
Also, if you have not heard the news by now, the Rams traded for Myles Garrett yesterday, and the Cowboys will play them in week 15 as Dallas will be coming off their bye week and honestly might be playing for a playoff spot.
But, let’s remember when the Packers traded for Micah Parsons last year, everyone said they would win the Super Bowl, no doubt about it! We will hear it all again, and forget that the Rams play in the best division in football.
Yes, they will probably be the 1 seed, but the media and people overreact to every single thing. Garrett is that dude, but they aren’t going 17-0. They better hope they get the 1 seed. Matt Stafford is older and struggles in cold weather games. He showed it last year.
Either way, the Cowboys’ offense will score a lot again this season, but they need others on the offensive line to bring up their level of play.
Leading the league in penalties as a unit is not going to cut it, the NFC is loaded with good defensive guys, and they are going to need to just clean up the small stuff.
This and scoring seven in the red zone are the two biggest issues for them. Outside of that they are fine.
We a long summer to go and it seems the Cowboys are content with who they have on the roster, and although they did more than they have in the last 20 years during the offseason, they are going to need everyone to play at the same level on both sides of the ball.
The Rams drafting Myles Garrett will be all over the media how they are going to win it all and nobody stands a chance, and I love it.
No Cowboys drama and let the media talk about someone else for a change, let’s keep it this way, Jerry Jones.
