Cowboy's secondary needs to be ready for the Rams' explosive WRs

Cowboy’s secondary will be tested this week against possibly the best duo in all of football.

Although the Rams record doesn’t reflect it, these two guys have been balling.

The Dallas Cowboys will need to be ready this Sunday; fresh off the bye week, they will host the Los Angeles Rams and their outstanding duo at wide receiver.

We all know how great Cooper Kupp is, but the potential rookie of the year, Puka Nacua, is having one of the best seasons from the wideout position we have seen in years.

He has 58 catches for 752 yards and two touchdowns.

Dan Quinn and this defense need a good game plan to slow him and Kupp down.

The pass rush will be able to get home against Matt Stafford, but the question is, can the secondary hold up enough?

While Kupp struggled Sunday against the Steelers, being held to only two catches for 29 yards, Nacua exploded again for 154 on eight grabs.

That will not happen two weeks in a row. That will likely be the lowest output Kupp will have all season.

The Rams’ offense will attack the middle of the field where the Dallas defense is weak.

Leighton Vander Esch is out, but newly signed Rashaan Evans should see the field this week.

DaRon Bland and Stephon Gilmore will have their hands full Sunday afternoon.

Bland has been one of the best corners in all football this season.

He has been exactly what they needed when Trevon Diggs was lost for the year with a torn ACL.

Don’t beat yourself

That is my saying for this matchup.

Don’t beat yourself. Don’t bite on the double moves, don’t get called for pass interference on 3rd and long, and give the Rams a first down.

Do the simple things. They did an excellent job against the Chargers Keenan Allen and Josh Palmer, but Kupp and Nacua are probably the best duo in football after six weeks.

Stafford will give you chances to take the ball away. It’s just what he does.

This game is perfect for Dallas after the bye.

They need to be tested before they head on the road the following week and play the Eagles wide receivers.

The Cowboys are winning ugly, and honestly, I don’t care.

I wish the offense would stop being so conservative under Mike McCarthy and take more chances, but they are doing enough to win games.

The Rams will hang around in this game because of their weapons on the outside.

I trust Quinn will have a good game plan going into this game on how to slow them down, but it won’t be easy.

I have the Cowboys winning this game. There is no excuse for them to come out of the bye looking flat.

The Rams are now playing for their playoff hopes, so the season doesn’t unravel after their loss to the Steelers.

They are going to want to hit Dallas in the mouth, so they need to be ready everywhere, but the secondary will have to be the most prepared.

Joel Jones especially Gilmore. He sucks he is just like Anthony Brown gives the receivers 10-12 yards.

Quinn has to play less man or when he does double at least one and not just pray that pressure gets there on Stafford, he tried that against Niners and Cards and would have failed against Chargers too if Herbert hadn’t missed so many open guys
