One of the youngest position group on the Dallas Cowboys roster, and after the NFL draft is seems that the front office is okay with what they’ve got.
With the Cowboys only drafting two skill players, both running backs in the later rounds of the NFL draft last weekend, it leaves the offense just about where we were the last few months.
With CeeDee Lamb being the only focal point of the offense, and if this team does not trade for another wide receiver, the Dallas tight end room is going to need to take the next step in 2025 and bring it in every single week to give this team a chance to put up some points.

Tight End Outlook
After a Pro Bowl campaign in 2023 where Ferguson put up 761 yards and five touchdowns, he slid in his third season with just 494 yards and didn’t find the end zone once in 14 games. Injuries played a part in some of that, but all in all, Ferguson wasn’t the same player that the Cowboys saw in 2023.
The season Ferguson had last season is a concern. I won’t say it is a major one just as of yet because he played with some backup quarterbacks most of the year, but after the 2023 season, this team thought he was the next great one in Dallas.
He still has not produced at the level he should be yet, but Luke Schoonmaker did take a step in the right direction at the end of last season. When Ferg was injured, he stepped in and finally showed us a little something. He finished with 241 receiving yards and a touchdown.

Princeton Fant, Brevyn Spann-Ford and John Stephens Jr. are the next in line to see what they can give the team.
I really like Brevyn Spann-Ford. He is one heck of a blocker, so I would enjoy seeing more out of him this season with a young offensive line and another running back by committee.
They also signed Rivaldo Fairweather as an undrafted free agent.
Fairweather was the Tigers’ starting tight end for the last two seasons after transferring from Florida International, where he spent the first three seasons of his career.
He appeared in 26 games for the Panthers, racking up 54 catches for 838 yards and five touchdowns.
Offensive Struggle
I hope these guys ball out this season, and they will need to if this offense wants to produce. CeeDee Lamb is the only guy other teams will have to worry about.
I mean, let’s be honest, does Javonte Williams or Miles Sanders scare anyone?

Jaydon Blue, the 5th round pick, will probably be able to walk in there and compete for some of the carries, but they will just ride the hot hand.
They tried to do this a season ago and we saw how bad it started. You need a full time running back. Once Rico Dowdle took over the load, he was awesome!
I really hope they trade for a wide receiver or even just bring in Keenan Allen. He is probably washed at this point, but it can’t be any worse than what Brandin Cooks brought you the last couple of years.
All eyes for me, though, are on the tight ends. Ferg and the rest of the group need to have a productive year and be a problem for other coaches. Give them a reason to gameplay for you.

We will see how the rest of the summer shakes out. I am actually pretty excited about what Dallas has cooking on the other side of the ball with the news of Sam Williams and what they did in the draft.
