DAL 14, LAC 11: Cowboys Start Strong and Holding On at Halftime

The Cowboys had a 14-3 lead at the end of the 1st Quarter and have done enough to still be up at halftime. Dallas goes into the break with 14-11 score over the Chargers in their Week 2 matchup in Los Angeles.

Playing in front of what looks and sounds like a home crowd, Dallas broke a 20-game streak of not having a touchdown on their first possession when Tony Pollard rushed into the endzone after a 15-play drive.

The Chargers moved the ball well on their first possession but Trevon Diggs made an athletic interception to end the drive. Unfortunately, Dak Prescott threw a pick to give the ball back to L.A. shortly after.

After a Chargers field goal, Dallas again marched the field and this time it was Ezekiel Elliott who rushed it in for the score. Zeke and Pollard have combined for 78 rushing yards on 16 carries so far today.

Dallas surrendered a touchdown and 2-point conversion in the 2nd Quarter to see their lead narrow. Chargers WR Mike Williams is having little trouble against CB Anthony Brown, who was one of the major problems for Dallas in last week’s loss to Tampa Bay.

It’s been an even game mostly, both in playmaking and in penalties, and the score reflects it. Hopefully the Cowboys can keep making enough plays to get their first win of the season.
