The Dallas Cowboys will be without All-Pro Offensive Tackle Tyron Smith for a second-straight game. Tyron is still recovering from a neck injury and will not suit up as the Cowboys visit the Seattle Seahawks in their Week 3 matchup.
Smith was also out last week in Dallas’ stunning comeback win over the Atlanta Falcons. Brandon Knight will start again at left tackle, where he performed very well against the Falcons.
The Cowboys are also missing starter La’el Collins at right tackle. UDFA Terence Steele has started the last two games there and will resume that duty today. Collins could be back next week after serving his 3-week minimum on injured reserve.
Tyron Smith is the only significant name on the inactive list this week. It’s a bit surprising to see Reggie Robinson there given Dallas’ injuries at cornerback, but the Cowboys signed Saivion Smith from the practice squad this week and are using Deante Burton has one of their two PS players in the game.
As Archer’s tweet above mentioned, today will be a healthy scratch for 3rd-round rookie Neville Gallimore. It only drives home the surprising distance that has been created between Gallimore and emerging stud Trysten Hill as the Cowboys’ young DT prospects.
But again, the big story here is Tyron Smith’s absence. Dallas was able to adjust last week and pull off a miraculous victory but Seattle should be a much tougher opponent.
