Drama brewing between 2 Dallas Cowboys defenders

I stayed off social media for most of the weekend, but wouldn’t you know it, the first few things I read when I got into my office Monday morning was the little beef between two teammates. Cowboys safety Malik Hooker was a guest on Keyshawn Johnsons’ podcast Thursday called All Facts No Brakes.

He spoke for nearly an hour, and Johnson asked him about a whole host of Dallas Cowboys topics.

Yet the one that is causing more pointless drama is what he said about Micah Parsons and the podcasting stuff.

What Did Malik Hooker Say?

Hooker seems to think that Parsons, like many others, needs to stay more locked in during the season and not worry about his podcast as much.

“My advice for Micah would be just make sure we’re alright and being where you’re feet are.”

Because if we’re at work and, you know, the run game’s terrible but you’re doing a podcast every week and you know the run game is terrible then what are you really caring about? Are you caring about the crowd that was watching the podcast or are you caring about the success of our team and the Super Bowl that we’re trying to reach?”

Before I touch on the quick response by Parsons, I will note that if this is catching the attention of teammates now, maybe Micah should pull it back and just not worry about it.

Parsons can be one of, if not the best defenders in Cowboys history, but he’s been getting caught up on the wrong side of the news the last year or so.

Micah Parsons’ Response

Micah Parsons was quick to respond to his teammate after he heard what Hooker said on the podcast with Johnson, and he didn’t seem too happy.

And to be fair, if this was said about me by one of my teammates and caught me off guard, I would probably have an issue with it also, but we have to see both sides.

“Just wish you said this to me but instead on some podcast! And you got my number family!” Parsons wrote on twitter. “and you my locker mate!”

“So you coulda said this any day! And you do realize I shoot the podcast on our off day! I why ain’t we talking about everyone preparations and focus.”

I have been trying to find Micah on X/Twitter this afternoon but had no luck. He may have deleted his Twitter completely or something, but according to the news release this was tweeted after he heard what was said.

What Could Be The Problem?

So, here we are again, one teammate saying something about another on a different podcast, like what are we doing here, fellas?

What Malik Hooker said in its full context was not really a big deal at all.

The problem is that it appears Micah Parsons didn’t get the full context of it and only saw a short clip before responding.

This should be nothing, but it’s the Cowboys during a time when news is slow, so it’ll be a topic.

Hooker also noted that Parsons should be behind CeeDee Lamb and Dak Prescott when it comes to which Dallas Cowboys gets a contract extension first, so maybe he did hear that and it bothers him.

Who knows.

End of the day, as noted, this should not be a big deal. Two teammates going back and forth in the summer on a slow news week for football.

If this was the Carolina Panthers or Tennessee Titans, it wouldn’t get even a moment of airtime. Maybe one or two articles.

Whose side do you take?
