Cowboys' Ashton Jeanty dream takes hit after Raiders trade 2

As the 2025 NFL Draft approaches, the Dallas Cowboys are poised to make strategic selections to bolster their roster.

There are several holes to fill at key positions because key players like RG Zack Martin, DE DeMarcus Lawrence, and CB Jourdan Lewis are no longer on the team.

The Cowboys could also use an influx of talent at WR2, running back, defensive tackle, linebacker, and safety.

Bryan Broaddus, a former NFL scout and co-host of The Love of the Star podcast, has outlined his ideal picks for the Cowboys in the first three rounds based on expert projections.

Former NFL scout reveals his ideal top 3 rounds for the Dallas Cowboys

Who is Bryan Broaddus?

Bryan Broaddus brings a wealth of NFL experience to his analysis and commentary.

Over a 13-year scouting career, he held positions with several NFL teams, including the Dallas Cowboys, Green Bay Packers, Jacksonville Jaguars, and Philadelphia Eagles.

Notably, during his tenure with the Packers, Broaddus contributed to the team’s Super Bowl XXXI victory over the New England Patriots.

His extensive background in player evaluation and team strategy informs his insights, making his perspectives particularly valuable to fans and analysts alike.

Without further ado, here are Bryan Broaddus’ ideal selections for the Dallas Cowboys in the first three rounds of the 2025 NFL Draft.

3 most likely outcomes for the Cowboys first-round pick

WR Tetairoa McMillan, University of Arizona

Selecting WR Tetairoa McMillan with the 12th overall pick would provide quarterback Dak Prescott with a formidable target.

McMillan’s impressive college career showcased his exceptional route-running, reliable hands, and ability to make contested catches.

Standing at 6’4″ with remarkable athleticism, he poses a significant red-zone threat and can stretch the field vertically.

Pairing McMillan with CeeDee Lamb would create a dynamic receiving duo, challenging opposing defenses and opening up the passing game.

CB Shavon Revel Jr., East Carolina University

At the 44th overall pick, CB Shavon Revel Jr. offers the Cowboys an opportunity to strengthen their secondary.

Revel Jr. is known for his agility, ball-hawking skills, and physical playstyle. His ability to read quarterbacks and anticipate routes makes him a valuable asset in pass coverage.

With Trevon Diggs recovering from injury and contract negotiations ongoing with DaRon Bland, adding depth at cornerback is a prudent move.

Revel Jr.’s presence would provide immediate competition and potential starting capability in the defensive backfield.

The East Carolina Pirate would be yet another first-round talent to drop in the draft because of injury, only to have the Cowboys scoop him up in the second round.

RB Quinshon Judkins, Ohio State University

Selecting running back Quinshon Judkins in the third round addresses the need for depth and versatility in the backfield.

Judkins has demonstrated a blend of power and elusiveness, capable of breaking tackles and making defenders miss in open space.

His pass-catching ability out of the backfield adds another dimension to the offense, complementing the existing running back committee.

Judkins’ skill set aligns with the offensive philosophy under head coach Brian Schottenheimer, aiming to establish a balanced and dynamic attack.

Stephen Jones indicates the Cowboys are in the hunt for "explosive" WR2

Selectively Aggressive

These selections reflect a strategic approach to addressing the Cowboys’ immediate needs while also planning for the future.

The addition of McMillan enhances the receiving corps, providing Prescott with another reliable target and potentially elevating the passing game to new heights.

Revel Jr. strengthens the secondary, offering depth and competition, which is crucial given the uncertainties surrounding current personnel.

Judkins’ inclusion adds versatility to the running back position, aligning with the team’s objective to diversify offensive options and reduce reliance on any single player.

By focusing on these key positions in the early rounds, the Cowboys aim to build a more robust and well-rounded roster.

These draft choices not only address current gaps but also position the team for sustained success in the highly competitive NFC East.

As the draft unfolds, the execution of this strategy will be pivotal in determining the Cowboys’ trajectory in the upcoming season.

He will be there when Dallas picks. Not enough teams will be taking RBs in the first two rounds to get to him considering he is at best the 5th RB prospect. I’d still take Hampton in the 2nd. And yes he will be there too.
