The first full-padded practice of training camp for the Dallas Cowboys took place on Monday.
During the first four days of camp last week, players were able to get back into the swing of things. Going through early drills, trying to knock some rust off without any pads, but the first day in them did not do any favors.
The biggest news that came from Monday was the injury to James Washington. He was carted off the practice field, leaving many wondering, what will the Cowboys do to replace him? Washington suffered a fractured foot. A 6-10 week window that he could miss. With that now on the forefront, we shall see if Dallas brings another body to replace Washington. I think they should have been on the phone yesterday as soon as they heard the news.
Prescott had a solid day as well. He completed 17 of 23 passes in the team and 7-on-7 drills. Prescott needs to develop even more chemistry with Jalen Tolbert and maybe even Noah Brown until we see what the Cowboys do with the loss of Washington.

I’ve been one to hype-up Dan Quinn and the defense all offseason. This group is the best of the two, it stood out from the first day last week.
The defense looks to be a step ahead, as anticipated. Micah Parsons was running down Tony Pollard on the sideline. Nahshon Wright had a pass breakup of Prescott and an interception on a deep ball by Will Grier. Wright is doing all the right things to find some playing time once the season rolls around.
How about the kicking competition? It’s WIDE open. From what I have seen, I may give the edge to Lirim Hajrullahu as we speak. He’s been more constant as the first week of camp has passed.

Let these two keep going at it and trust the guy who can consistently knock down FGs routinely both in training camp and when the preseason games start.
