The Super Bowl has become the single biggest sporting, entertainment, and social event on planet Earth. Each year millions of people huddle around their televisions, or maybe just attend the party, to witness the grandest stage the NFL has to offer. Because of this, it comes with no surprise that cities and franchises bid inconceivable amounts of money for the right to host the Super Bowl in their own stadium. This past week, the league announced the three lucky (or unlucky if you live there and hate traffic) cities which will be hosting the Super Bowl through 2021. Houston and Minneapolis were confirmed for the next two seasons, while Atlanta, South Beach, and Los Angeles won the bidding war and the right to host a Super Bowl as well.
Inside The Star is where the voices of a nation, you the fans, can come congregate together for high-quality analysis regarding America's Team. I speak on behalf of the entire Inside The Star team when I say that our primary objective is always to satisfy you. Earlier this week a loyal Inside The Star reader threw a tweet my way and asked if I could write up something on the subject. If you have something that you want us to write about, all you have to do is ask. Shout out to TJ, hopefully this is what you're looking for good sir.
Has it settled in yet? The Dallas Cowboys added Ohio State running back Ezekiel Elliott with the fourth overall pick tonight in the NFL Draft! Fans can brace for a dynamic offense with Zeke in the backfield, along with lofty expectations to follow. Elliott, who bursts with confidence in everything he does, appeared ready for these expectations when he came off the stage in Chicago to join Cowboys' great Deion Sanders on NFL Network. In this post-draft interview, Elliott declared:
When you're a famous athlete you're asked to sign a lot of autographs. I say that based on no experience of my own because, if you are unaware, I am not a famous athlete. Although I could have been one if I wanted to. DeMarcus Ware is a famous athlete, and he is asked...
John Elway is as a part of the Denver Broncos as the horse that serves as their mascot. Through his total tenure with the team he's taken them to the top of the mountain three different times, but his resume includes so much more than that. Among many other...
Today is January 28th, 2016. Twenty years ago was January 28th, 1996. That day was a special one as the Dallas Cowboys defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers 27-17 in Super Bowl XXX. The win gave the Cowboys their fifth World Championship and their third in four years... establishing them as a...
Once it was official that the Denver Broncos would be in the Super Bowl, I tried to decide how this Super Bowl could actually be entertaining. I think Peyton Manning would struggle against either the Carolina or Arizona defense, so how can this become entertaining? Well, how about Cam Newton...
The Pro Bowl, the NFL's annual All-Star Game, will take place this Sunday from the tropical locale of Honolulu, Hawaii. If you were unaware, an impossibility since we had you covered here at Inside The Star, the Dallas Cowboys will have five representatives in the game: Dan Bailey, PK Travis Frederick, C Sean Lee*,...
December 26th means different things for different people. Some people are headed home after visiting family. Others lay in their pajamas and watch college bowl games or movies. Of course there are those that rush to their local retail stores to exchange whatever gifts they opened under their tree the day before. The Washington...
During his Pro Football Hall of Fame Enshrinement Speech last summer, Ron Wolfe referred to Lambeau Field as, "football's most storied cathedral." I've been very blessed in that I've been able to attend a lot of Dallas Cowboys games in my life. A majority of the time I've been accompanied...
Y2K was a scary thing, no not really. You know what's scary? Ray Lewis coming at you with the force of a thousand deer antlers. That was the case during Super Bowl XXXV when Kerry Collins took the ball from his center on every play. He was swarmed all day...
7 months ago we all saw confetti rain down on the New England Patriots as they celebrated their victory in Super Bowl XLIX. We've all seen a Facebook status or two that reads, usually accompanied by some emojis, "You have to get through the rain to see the rainbow." Well if...
The 80s were a weird time. Neon colors were in, perms were the go-to hairstyle, and the San Francisco 49ers took hold of the NFL. You'd think that the city who boasts the "Golden Gate" bridge would be the authority on gold, right? That the whole California gold rush thing...
Last night there was a platter of preseason football action for all of us to enjoy. For one team, that ride will end with confetti raining down on them in the aftermath of Super Bowl 50. The players will get a parade, championship caps, championship shirts, and if they're lucky...
Let me start by saying that I do not want to hear about Super Bowl rings. I know the team hasn’t won one with Jason Garrett as head coach, but they’re coming. Yes, they, as in multiple--not just one, but many. And, before anyone wants to start with the comparisons...
There is no greater joy than winning the Super Bowl. The NBA Finals? Lame. World Series? Eh. How about the Stanley Cup? Decent. In the NFL Network documentary series America's Game chronicling the 1992 Dallas Cowboys Michael Irvin talked about how some people think that the second championship is as sweet as the...
Like any great running back pushing for more we are inching our way to the goal line of the 2015 NFL season. A mere 33 sets of the sun are what separate us from our weekly rituals of wearing our favorite jersey, grilling some barbecue, and gluing ourselves to...
Last night the Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2015 were given their coveted gold jackets. These are a literal symbol of being a member of Pro Football's most elite fraternity. Among the gold jackets, there are two other items that only Hall of Famers receive. There are the...
Welcome one and all, to football season. Two days from now we are going to have an NFL game to watch. Yes, really. From that moment on we will have NFL action every week from now through the rest of 2015. COMMENCE CELEBRATION! Before we get too worked up remember that...
There are a lot of contenders for the greatest day of the year... Thanksgiving is all about family, food, and football. Christmas comes with family, food again, and ideally a present or two. Fourth of July is all about that red, white, and blue and if you're not about that...
