The Cowboys wouldn’t dare trade these players, would they?

A 3-3 start to the season would be great for some football teams around the league, but for the Dallas Cowboys, it seems like a major disappointment, even being just a game back of the division lead.

A team that is within striking distance, you would think, should have no plans of looking to trade players, but rather look to add like the Jets did with Davante Adams and the Bills did with Amari Cooper.

Jerry Jones made it clear that this team will not be active at the trade deadline, but if they lose the next two games, Jones won’t take calls and unload some players if they fall to 3-5?

Heck, the Jets are under .500, made a move and tried to win now, yet Jerry Jones is to busy threatening to fire radio hosts and crying because his way isn’t working.

With all that said, it might get to the point where the Cowboys look to deal some players for draft capital. Teams will probably call and look to see if they can get some players if this team continues to fall on their face.

All these media folks like Colin Cowherd trying to tell us the Dallas Cowboys should deal Micah Parsons.

Dude, I am just as upset at this team as the next, but trading a generational player? Come on man. Sure they would get another first round pick and have two in next years draft, but is that enough to fix the offense?

They would likely draft another wide receiver and a running back to pair with Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb. They are not trading Parsons, but the few players below could be on the way out.

Brandin Cooks

We have to keep it real, here. If this offense continues to struggle when he returns soon, this team will get calls for Cooks.

The Cowboys could offload the remainder of Cooks’s contract, or perhaps even take on a chunk of it in order to facilitate a trade for a better draft pick. Some team desperate for help at the receiver position might pay up.

Cooks was not off to a good start anyway. He like the rest of the offense, has performed. Cooks has just nine receptions on 19 targets, the same number of receptions as KaVontae Turpin.

At this point, why hold onto him? They won’t get a ton in return, but for a team that is making a push near the trade deadline, Cooks would probably work in a lot of other offenses.

Safety

The Cowboys have a number of players in the secondary, and you would think teams would call about the only place this team has depth, at safety.

As of right now, the Cowboys have been playing safeties Donovan Wilson and Malik Hooker more than anybody not named Trevon Diggs on the defense this season. While Dan Quinn got a lot of these safeties on the field in different ways, Mike Zimmer doesn’t seem to have the same types of intentions.

Wilson and Hooker would not get much in return, but for a team that needs some help on the backend, I bet teams will call and see if Dallas wants to unload on of them if things start to unwind for this team.

If Jerry does not let either of them go, look for Markquese Bell, Juanyeh Thomas or Israel Mukuamu go. Israel can play pretty much anywhere in the secondary. Not saying he is great by any stretch, but if a teams are hurting that badly, he may go.

When this team loses the next two games, Jerry is going to be getting calls and he will continue to tell us that he did nothing wrong when we all know how bad he failed this team during the offseason.
