So far, this NFL season, things are looking interesting in the . Besides the (1-3), the (4-0), (3-1), and (3-1) are in a tight race for first place. When looking at the level of performance going on in this division, it's looking like the NFC East is distancing itself from the NFC Least title.

A team labeled as the league's best right now, the Eagles. Two teams proving people wrong in the Cowboys and the Giants. Minus the Commanders, the NFC East is currently not to be played with or taken lightly.

Props have to be given where they're due. The Eagles are statistically the best team in the NFL and rightfully so. The moves they've made to upgrade their team are paying off pretty early.

Their drafting has been working. Picks such as these young star players, starting Jalen Hurts, DeVonta Smith, Runningback Myles Sanders, and recently promising young Jordan Davis have helped the Eagles start hot. Trades for players like stud Darius Slay and sensational Wide Receiver AJ Brown don't hurt either; the Eagles have certainly won these trades.

Last season with second-year Nick Sirianni, the Eagles were able to rebound from a bad start to finish as a wildcard playoff team. As of week four, with good offensive play and a top-10-ranked defense, the Eagles are soaring off of that momentum and flying high. If they can keep this up, it will be hard to cut their wings.

Dallas Cowboys

After week one, no one thought the Cowboys would be where they are right now. At home in a loss against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, starting Quarterback Dak Prescott underperformed and suffered an injury that has caused him to miss these last few weeks and potentially more in the future.

People wondered how the Cowboys would do with backup Quarterback Cooper Rush who has barely seen the field as a starter. Surprisingly, the inexperienced veteran has helped get the Cowboys to their respectable 3-1 record. He is now 4-0 as a starter in the NFL.

Great offensive play from wide receivers such as star and the sudden emergence of Noah Brown — to name a few — have complemented great defensive play led by the young lion himself, Micah Parsons.

Great team leadership from Head Coach , Offensive Coordinator , Defensive Coordinator Dan Quinn and more on top of the play from the players could keep Dallas in the NFC East race.

New York Giants

Second-year Giants Head Coach Joe Judge has instilled new values in the team. After a rough 6-10 record last year, they too can't be ignored and currently have a shot at claiming the NFC East crown.

Starting Quarterback Daniel Jones has shown inconsistency since being drafted by the Giants a few years ago. This year may be the last chance he has to prove he belongs. Right now his stats aren't the best when compared with most NFL starting quarterbacks. However, it seems he's doing just enough to help keep the Giants winning as of late.

The re-emergence of talented starting Runningback Saquon Barkley and a top-10 defense also make things easier. However, wide receiver troubles like the season-ending injury of starting Wide Receiver Sterling Shepard and some poor play by new addition Kenny Golladay so far could squander the momentum the Giants have established.

Washington Commanders

The Commanders on the other hand don't seem to have any momentum, to begin with. Starting Quarterback Carson Wentz is now with his third team after bad endings in Philadelphia and being unsatisfying with the Indianapolis Colts after just one season as their starter.

Normally a good defensive team, their isn't so impactful and star player Chase Young being injured doesn't make things any better. Overall, the offense and defense of the Commanders aren't doing so hot.

Still, fairly early in the season, it's hard for the identity of these teams to be known as with the rest of the league. The teams in the NFC East have tough challenges that await them. However, recently things have been trending upward. Despite this, the division making a return to its former glory remains to be seen.
