The NFL free agency is in full force, and guess what the Dallas Cowboys have done? Pretty much nothing.
They cleared up all that cap space last week and even had some of us fans thinking they may finally do something, and yet the streak of not signing any big time free agents is alive and well.
Can you guess who the last player and year it was when the Dallas Cowboys spent over $5 million dollars on a free agent?
One other note, Greg Hardy last big signing above 6M in FA and Brandon Carr was last big splash. Fair to say the Cowboys have some trust issues after those deals

Take A Guess
The Dallas Cowboys signed Greg Hardy to a $6 million contract in 2015.
The Cowboys have not awarded any free agents a deal exceeding that annual value. This trend has continued even as the NFL’s salary cap has grown by nearly $136 million during that same period.
While the NFL Draft provides a foundation for team building, successful teams also leverage free agency to fill specific needs and accelerate roster development.
Ask how the Philadelphia Eagles did after they went for it all in the 2024 offseason with the signings of Saquon Barkley, Zack Braun, and C. J. Gardner-Johnson.
The Dallas Cowboys have maintained a notably conservative approach to free agency spending despite the NFL’s skyrocketing salary cap.
Just how conservative have the Cowboys been in March over the years?
The NFL salary cap has reached $279.2 million for the 2025 season and will continue to increase annually.

Free Agent Update
The Cowboys have agreed to terms with the following free agents:
RB Javonte Williams (one year, $3 million), G Robert Jones (one year, $4.5 million), DT Solomon Thomas (two years, $8 million).
The Cowboys have also re-signed the following players:
LS Trent Sieg (three years, $4.45 million)
S Markquese Bell (three years, $9 million)
S Juanyeh Thomas (one year, $1.03 million)
DE Tyrus Wheat (one year, $1.03 million)
G Brock Hoffman (one year, $1.1 million)
CB C.J. Goodwin (one year, $1.225 million)
DT Osa Odighizuwa (four years, $80 million)
The Cowboys also signed wide receiver and return specialist KaVontae Turpin to a three-year, $18 million extension, per NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero and Jane Slater. That makes him the highest-paid core special teams player in the league.
This from office just will not spend money to get better. I mean look at Washington is doing.
They are legitimately going all in with the moves they are making. This team let Jorudan Lewis walk, a guy that if they aren’t going to spend on outside guys, why not keep one of your best players on the defensive end of the football?
Just think about it, the fact that GREG HARDY was the last player they spent more than $5 million dollars on is so embarrassing.
I did not think that could be true when I first read it, but it sure is, and I don’t want to hear anyone talk about how Dak Prescott and others are the problem of this team.

It is the front office that is the problem, you can’t sit here and tell me otherwise. They do NOTHING to make this football team better, and it is a joke!
Load up, add some players and then when the quarterback fails or whomever then you can start playing the blame game, but until you get a team that complete with Washington and the Eagles, I don’t want to hear it.
It is going to be another long season of everyone trying to blame the quarterback when the front office fails to do absolutely anything to make either side of the football better.
It is so sick watching the Commanders and the Eagles just go for it all in back to back offseason while the Dallas Cowboys pay nickles for guys who have done nothing on the football field.
