will have an opportunity that many people won't ever receive in this upcoming NFL season.

Now that is gone, the have pushed all their trust into the younger category as they have now placed Pollard at the starting position for this upcoming year.

Cowboys Running Backs Ezekiel Elliott and Tony Pollard

With his success last year with the team, the Cowboys decided to put a franchise tag on the young star and make him their main man.

Early on in the season, many fans (including myself) were spreading the news about how Pollard would make a great first-string running back. That news has now officially come true.

With great power comes great responsibility though, as Pollard will need to step up to the plate this season to prove that he can handle the pressure.

The fanbase knows that Pollard has deserved his new position, the only question that is left to answer is if he can deliver the performance we all expect from him.

Fans are eager to see Pollard play due to the talent they are expecting. The first big skill is speed. Everyone knows Pollard is quick and can race past his opponents in any foot race. Pollard will have to maintain his speed and show that he won't decrease come this season.

Keep in mind, the Cowboys franchise tagged this guy, meaning the staff and coaches know that Pollard still has the potential to get better, so he could become even faster in the near future.

One problem Pollard will have coming into this season is strength.

There's almost no debate about how Ezekiel Elliott was stronger compared to Pollard. Elliott is tougher and bigger built than Pollard, which brings up the topic of how Tony lacks that.

This year we will see a player who hits the weight room a lot more. Pollard will be focusing a lot on his body build this year, for he needs to now that he will be taking the majority of hits on the offense.

Another subject that Pollard will have to step up in is leadership. While it's mainly the 's job to take that role on the field, that doesn't mean that the running back has no say.

Pollard will be working closely with Quarterback to take control of the team and help advance the team as an entire unit.

With all this pressure and concentration that will be on Pollard, it's safe to say this is a big year for the young running back.

All the players and coaches have been very welcoming to Pollard as he squeezes his way into the starting job. Even when Elliott was on the team, he would always help tutor Pollard on what to do, and what not to do when on the field.

Pollard is going to have a great season. By the end of this year, Pollard will be in the top five running backs in the NFL and will be putting up stats that are unheard of.

Get ready Pollard, because the best season of your life is right around the corner.
