The Mississippi State Bulldogs baseball team captured the first national championship for the school in any sport last night with their series-clinching performance on Wednesday night. The Bulldogs were dominant in game three of the College World Series, winning 9-0 and combining for a one-hitter to take the title.

To experience all the revelry for the College World Series was and Mississippi State alum . Prescott was having a blast out there, signing autographs and taking in the experience with his fellow fans and alumni.

After the game, Prescott joined the coaching staff and players in the locker room to congratulate them and called them “living legends.”

Often the term legend can get thrown around a little wildly, but here it fits. According to Saturday Down South, the Bulldogs have been active in sports since 1895.

They accomplished something that no team at Mississippi State has accomplished in the 116-year history of the school. As one of the legends of the university from his time playing for the Bulldogs and helping them get to just their second 10-win season in 70 years, Prescott is a legend for the university as the Bulldogs overachieved during the 2014 season.

The Dallas Cowboys have experienced their own championship drought, though not as long as Mississippi State's. And it'll take an epic season by Dak Prescott to help the Cowboys put an end to their 25-year absence from the champions podium. 2021 has a chance to be that for the Cowboys, but many things will have to come together for that to come to fruition.
