Week 5 Injury Report: All-Pro Tyler Smith eyes return tonight

Cowboys 2nd year player molding into a star

The fact that it is week five already is insane. When football season starts, doesn’t it feel like the end of the year can sometimes fly by?

With the Cowboys on a short week after the thrilling win last week and much needed, the injury report probably looks the best that it has since they got hammered with all of them to begin with.

Take a look at the report below for both teams. The winless Buccaneers are also without two key players, one on offense and one on defense.

QUESTIONABLE

Don’t Play With Your Food

The Dallas Cowboys are nearly 10 point favorites tonight, and they could get Tyler Smith back after he practiced all week. The Bucs are without Baker and Winfield. Please, Dallas Cowboys at home, I beg, do not make this an interesting game.

All I ask is to look prepared when you walk into this matchup on a short week. Don’t try and get cute and think that, because it is a team without their starting quarterback and a below-average roster, it’ll be a cakewalk, because look around the league. No, it won’t be.

This could be a get right game for the defense and Joey Porter, I might add, looked awesome in his 24 defensive snaps in his debut, 19 of which were coverage snaps. He was targeted one time and did not allow a reception.

Dallas has a tendency to play down to the level sometimes and that starts with coaching. How about this time it doesn’t happen? Jaylon Daniels can use his legs, and we saw how that looked the first couple of weeks with this defense, he is going to get him some, that is for sure.

I think if Tyler Smith does play, though the running game will look a little bit better, they have struggled to run the football at a high clip without him out there, and I expect CeeDee Lamb to once again have a big game.

Javonte Williams should have a solid game on the ground and the Cowboys at home always seem to play better.

George Pickens should have more than two catches in this game, but if you let these teams that have no expectations hang around, it then puts the pressure on you and the Cowboys defense needs to not let these guys find a way to get going early, we know how other offensives have looked again them.

After watching Tampa on tape, Cowboys should cover comfortably if they don’t shoot themselves in the foot…

I am sure we will have a few moments in the game where we think “here we go again,” but I think the Cowboys will cover the spread here and win this game by at least two scores.

It will be close for about a half or so, but with the backup and the Bucs just not being very good this year, Dallas will pull away after a few duds, but it would be nice to actually see them come out and look prepared for once against a team that is not even in the same league as them, but then I remember it is the Cowboys and that hardly happens.

The Cowboys improve to 3-2. They win this game 33-17. If this offense, with a backup QB, scores more than 20 and not from a garbage-time touchdown or something, we have some legit serious issues, but please just win the game.
