Week 9 Injury Report: Cowboys hopeful 2 key starters will play tomorrow

The Dallas Cowboys are on the road against the Colts tomorrow, and the injury report just never seems to get any better no matter how many weeks pass.

A game that the Cowboys have to win, and it was that way last week, but after giving up a 20-point quater to the Cardinals, it makes this game even more pressing with the 49ers on deck.

Still, the Colts have traded two of their best players, but still have one of the best running backs in football, but let’s take a look at what both teams are dealing with when it comes to the injury report.

🔑 #Cowboys final injury report vs. Colts is below.

📝 i expect a move made to make room for the likely return of Marist Liufau from IR (Malachi Lawrence to IR?).

📝 correction: PJ Locke and Caleb Downs have officially cleared concussion protocol.

For much of the week, Cowboys DB Caleb Downs and S P.J. Locke found themselves on the report, but Downs passed concussion protocol and has no game status designation and is set to play Sunday vs. the Colts.

From what it sounded like from the press conference yesterday, both Joey Porter and Goerge Pickens, who are both questionable, seem to be treading toward playing, but will be a true game-time decision.

I would expect Pickens to play at the least. Porter is a bit more of a wild card since he was on the sideline last week for much of the second half against the Cardinals.

As for Lawrence, a guy who has been making good strides as a pass rusher over the last month or so, will more than likely be moved to the IR to allow Liufau this week, who has recovered from his set to return from his IR stint.

I am going to say this as nicely as I can. If the Dallas Cowboys lose to a team that is having a fire sale, things should be pretty. You thought it was bad last week. How in the heck would Jerry Jones defend this and, for me, I am a die-hard fan until the day I am no longer on this earth? I almost want to see it happen.

Not because I don’t want the Cowboys to win, but because this team needs significant changes, and if they beat this horrible team in the Colts, Jerry Jones is going to act like all is well, and they are back until the 49ers come to town and dog walk them.

Cowboys coach Brian Schottenheimer with some injury updates on @1053thefan:

– CB Joey Porter Jr. (ankle) and WR George Pickens (hamstring) will be a little bit limited, but “hopeful” they’re able to play Sunday vs. Indianapolis.
– DB Caleb Downs (concussion/ankle) and S P.J.

I know it will never happen, but if Dallas did lose this game I would trade as many guys as possible for picks, like Pickens and others, and I really like Pickens. I think he has been just fine since coming over from Pittsburg. Some don’t like him, but Schotty has hurt this offense this season with his play calling.

Everyone needs to be better, but we will see what happens tomorrow around noon before kickoff to see if any of these guys will be a factor. I did not think Marist Liufau was even going to make the roster, and now he gets a chance to show out in his first game back, so he will be the guy that I keep my eye the closest on, but not sure if he is going to play that many snaps, but hope he gets a sack or two.

It is getting harder and harder to write these injury reports because they seem to not matter with how poorly this team is preforming.
