The Dallas Cowboys have selected Defensive End Chauncey Golston with a 3rd-round pick, 84th overall, in the 2021 NFL Draft.
This pick, currently one of three Dallas has in the 3rd Round, came to them from the Philadelphia Eagles last night in a 1st-Round trade. The Cowboys moved from 10th to 12th and received this pick as compensation.
With second third-round pick, Cowboys draft former Iowa DE Chauncey Golston at No. 84 overall. Four picks. Four defenders.
Just nine picks ago, Dallas added another defensive lineman in UCLA's Osa Odighizuwa. This was a clear concern for them after losing Aldon Smith in free agency and Tyrone Crawford to retirement.
Golston projects as a base 4-3 defensive end, more of a run stopper than pass rusher, in the Cowboys' scheme.
Welcome to Dallas, Chauncey Golston!
Gholston looks like a reach pick here. Why him when Ronnie Perkins is still on the board?
I agree Todd, Golston is more of a 5th or 6th round kind of player, I would’ve taken Perkins before Golston in a heartbeat
