It’s the same old story when it comes to Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys.
People either like him or wish he were gone; I have found very few people in between.
You know it’s hard to find a franchise quarterback in this league.
Do we remember what happened when Andy Dalton tried to replace him? The team didn’t do well.
This brings me to the point of this post.
I am a Prescott fan and always will be. He and Tony Romo are the two guys I have seen sling the football for my 26 years of life. The two that had any real success, anyway.
With that said, this is it.
2023 might be the final year I can believe in Prescott. Outside of 2021, this roster might be the best he has ever played with.
In fact, on both sides of the ball in terms of a complete team, I know it is.
Did Prescott have an uncharismatic year with turnovers a season ago? Yes.
That won’t happen again, and instead of hoping the guy fails, how about we root for the team to win, no matter who is behind center?
Unless it is blatantly clear that the Dallas Cowboys can’t win with someone, I have waited my entire life for this team to win anything.
It is hard to win Championships in any sport, and it doesn’t happen overnight.
The fact that folks want this team to lose simply so they can hate the next quarterback that takes the snaps is ridiculous.
This team can win a title with Prescott, this league is crazy year to year, so relax.
History in the making
I am a Chicago Cubs fan and a Denver Nuggets fan.
Until 2016, I never witnessed one of my favorite teams win a championship.
The same fans that thought the Curse of the Billy Goat for the Cubs was real, had tears streaming down their face when they won the World Series in 2016.
The Denver Nuggets went 47 years without a championship. This summer, I got to witness history.
People said they couldn’t get over the hump. Nikola Jokic won two regular-season MVP awards before he got his title.
So why can’t the Cowboys?
Let me give you some names for those who say Prescott isn’t good enough to reach a Super Bowl.
Was Trent Dilfer or Brad Johnson better than Prescott?
How about Rex Grossman?
The answer is no.
For all the folks that think Cooper Rush is the answer, his 16 PPG wouldn’t do much if the defense didn’t ball out.
Rush did enough, that was it, but come on, he isn’t winning 12 games a year.
With Aaron Rodgers now in the AFC, Prescott this is your chance.
The 49ers have a problem at quarterback, so once they figure that out, we can revisit this.
It is hard to repeat as a champ, the Eagles have the making, but their defense has taken a massive hit with losing four starters.
End of the day, I am a fan of Prescott and he’s QB1, but I am also realistic. This might be my last year on the bump.
If the Cowboys can make the NFC title game and Prescott is not the reason they lose, I’ll still be here.
I’ve got one more year in me because Jerry Jones finally used an offseason to make the team significantly better.
I am excited for Cowboys football, and regardless of how I feel about a player, the Dallas Cowboys WINNING comes before I wish a player to fail.
