You don’t need me to tell you how poorly 2020 has gone for the Dallas Cowboys. Once considered a Super Bowl contender, the Cowboys now sit at 2-7 during a completely lost season.
That doesn’t mean there aren’t some bright spots, however. Starting guard Zack Martin has been one of the NFL’s best since the day he came into the league. The four time All Pro and six time Pro Bowler was named to the 2010’s All Decade team before the season, and has continued his dominance into the new decade.
Per Pro Football Focus, Martin ranks second among all guards in overall grade, and second among all offensive linemen in run blocking. Martin is the last man standing on this once great offensive line, but he’s been holding it down with the young guys since returning from an injury of his own.
Martin has been asked to fill a couple roles this year though, bumping out to right tackle during the team’s week three loss to the Seahawks. Unsurprisingly, Martin was great at tackle as well.
If Tyron Smith and La’el Collins can return to form in 2021, this offensive line should be back among the top tier. Mostly due to Zack Martin’s consistency, of course.
