The Baltimore Ravens have had a lot of uncertainty the last few weeks as they’ve dealt with a COVID-19 outbreak. Perhaps the biggest issue in this situation was losing Quarterback Lamar Jackson for their last game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, but it appears that Jackson will be back in the lineup this Tuesday when they host the Dallas Cowboys.
Like many Ravens players, Jackson had to go on the reserve/COVID-19 list and was ineligible to play last Wednesday against Pittsburgh. But this morning it was reported that Lamar should be back for Week 13 after clearing the necessary tests and protocols.
Being without Jackson, one of the league’s most exciting young quarterbacks, would have been bad enough for Baltimore. But his absence would’ve been compounded by backup QB Robert Griffin III’s injury last week, landing him on IR and also unavailable for Tuesday.
The only other QB on the Ravens’ roster is Trace McSorley a 6th-round pick in 2019. His appearance last week after Griffin’s injury was his first playing time so far in the NFL.
While not putting up the MVP numbers he did last year, Jackson is still highly dangerous. He also gets a great opportunity to go off against the struggling Dallas Cowboys defense.
So clearly, getting Lamar Jackson back was huge for the Ravens this week. For the Cowboys, trying to get a rare win in 2020 just got a whole lot tougher.
