According to multiple reports, Wide Receiver CeeDee Lamb will be invited to the 2022 Pro Bowl as an alternate. That would give the Dallas Cowboys six players in the NFL’s annual all-star game and give Lamb his first career Pro Bowl apperance.
In just his second season, Lamb emerged as the Cowboys’ top receiver and set new career highs in receptions (79), yards (1,102), and touchdowns (6). He also saw a few touches on the ground, totaling 76 rushing yards on just nine carries.
The Cowboys had five players named to the original 2022 Pro Bowl roster when it was released last month: OT Tyron Smith, G Zack Martin, LB Micah Parsons, CB Trevon Diggs, and P Bryan Anger. At this time, all are expected to play in the game.
DE Randy Gregory was named as a Pro Bowl alternate shortly thereafter, but this week it was revealed that Gregory would be having knee surgery today. With the game being played next weekend Randy shouldn’t be there.
But back to Lamb. By making the Pro Bowl in just his second season, CeeDee only further affirms the Cowboys’ decision to give him that hallowed #88 and join the elite company of Drew Pearson, Michael Irvin, and Dez Bryant.
In fact, Lamb now joins Pearson as the only members of the “#88 Club” to be named Pro Bowlers within two seasons. Irvin didn’t get to the Pro Bowl until his third year and Dez had to wait until his fourth season for the honor.
Congratulations to CeeDee Lamb on this great accomplishment!
