Jerry Jones gets chippy in post-game comments; shows his frustration with the season

This past Sunday, the Dallas Cowboys disappointed us once again with yet another home blowout loss. This time, to the rival Philadelphia Eagles by the score of 34-6.

The season appears to be lost, and the frustration in the building is palpable. Dallas is now 3-6 and set to host the Houston Texans on Monday Night Football. Thankfully, the sun won’t be a factor after the 7:15 kickoff.

Jones got chippy with his post-game comments, and his frustration is there for all of us to see.

Well Let’s Tear the Damn Stadium Down

Immediately after the loss on Sunday, Cowboys Owner/GM Jerry Jones gave the media a few minutes of his time, and it was worth it.

One of the loudest gripes from Cowboys Nation and the rest of Twitter/X was the sun once again being a factor in the game. On a crucial third down play in the redzone, QB Cooper Rush rolled out to his right and fired a pass…into the blue turf of the endzone.

WR CeeDee Lamb was running across the field wide open and waiting for the football. His hands remained empty because Rush made a poor throw, but also because Lamb could not adjust to the ball.

That darn sun was right in his face, and Jerry Jones wasn’t too happy to talk about it after the game. Jones had already taken questions about the game, and he answered them to the media’s liking. However, someone must have told him how social media exploded at the sun being in Lamb’s face and preventing a touchdown, because he turned right around and added more comments, unprompted.

By the way, we know where the sun is going to be when we decide to flip the coin or not. We do know where the damn sun is going to be in our own stadium.

A reporter was then brave enough to ask, “Why not put up curtains over the windows?” Jones’ response shows his frustration with the team’s performance, but perhaps is also an indicator that Jones knows the solution is simple. Curtains are used for all other events at AT&T Stadium except for the games. Putting up the curtains would be a way of admitting he is wrong, and he just won’t do that.

Well let’s tear the damn stadium down and build another one. Are you kidding me? Everybody has got the same thing. Every team that comes in here has the same issues.

Mr. Jones, I beg to differ. It seems the Cowboys are the only team ever affected by the sun in their own stadium. I have yet to hear a gripe from opposing teams, or for the broadcast team to point out that the sun affected the opposing team in any way.

Where’s the Moon?

Jones continued, much to the delight of the media.

I’m saying, the world knows where the sun is. You get to know that almost a year in advance. Someone asked me about the sun. What about the sun? Where’s the moon?

Okay, Jerry. Now you’re just being an ass. No one is to blame for the sun blinding Cowboys players except for him. I’ve heard several reports say the contractors of the stadium told him most stadiums run north to south instead of east to west, but Jones was okay with the original plans.

Now, his players have been blinded since 2010 with no relief in sight. The stubbornness of the 82 year old will be the downfall of this team, and it’s snowballing right in front of our eyes.

Jones has all the money in the world. Maybe he can hire super villain Gru and his minions to shrink and steal the sun like they did with the moon. Just a humorous thought.
