We are now under a month away from the 2021 NFL Draft which kicks off on April 29 in Cleveland, Ohio. Finally the big event of the offseason is almost here!
The Dallas Cowboys and the rest of the NFL are entering the home stretch giving everything they have left in the tank to hopefully finish strong. For the most part things are close to wrapped up with only a few pro days left to be completed and medical reports to be checked/rechecked. It won’t be too long until the Commissioner is strutting up to the podium to announce the No. 1 this year.
With that in mind I thought I’d share with you my 2021 NFL Draft Top 50 Big Board. Overall this means very little to the Dallas Cowboys. However, I think it’s important to keep in mind they currently have four draft picks in the Top 100 this year and it’s not unreasonable to think two or three of these players end up being one of the selections.
Without further ado here is my Top 50 draft board:

Brian, using your 50 as a road map, let’s take out the QBs and RBs and WRs, which we most likely won’t be selecting (unless something happens with MG), we are left with 36. Out of the 36, we have 9 OTs, 8 EDGE, 6 CBs and 5 LBs, all needs, for a total of 28. So it may be safe to say we drafting at least two picks from that 28. Thoughts?
That’s definitely possible. I wouldn’t rule out WR at 10 completely though. I think they’d seriously consider Chase or Waddle if there.
WOW you got Waddle ahead of Chase Brian ? I like Waddle’s speed , but idk about him being ahead of Chase , he a surefire #1 WR in NFL imo
I really think Waddle is a unique WR. His speed and start/stop quickness are going to make him a rare weapon in the passing game at the next level. I’ve been back and forth between him and Chase as my WR1.
Also am kinda surprised Stokes or Campbell isn’t in you’re top 50 , they had really good pro days with Stokes running a 4.28 and Campbell a 4.37 40 time
They are both right outside my Top 50.
Jerry should just do Jerry and carpet bomb the roster with JAGs, at whatever position. Our GM for life has high standards of mediocrity to uphold.
If the prospects end up being close to this order, then I think the Cowboys should be able to get Patrick Surtain or Jaycee Horn in the first, and Richie Grant or Gregory Rousseau in the second. I would think that is a pretty good first two rounds!
I think that’s a pretty good possibility.
I was just re-reading you Top 100 Big Board from last year, Brian. You had 4 of the Cowboys draft picks listed in those top-100:
CeeDee Lamb WR
Trevon Diggs CB
Neville Gallimore DT
Bradlee Anae EDGE
The Cowboys actual Draft picks ended up being:
CeeDee Lamb WR
Trevon Diggs CB
Neville Gallimore DT
Reggie Robinson II CB
Tyler Biadasz C
Bradlee Anae EDGE
Ben DiNucci QB
All of them were selected below your ranking, and that would indicate the Cowboys did pretty well last year in the draft. Of course, CeeDee Lamb proved to be a great choice, and I think Trevon Diggs was another excellent pick. Gallimore was OK, but not the type of playmaker I was hoping for. Maybe year two will be better. I’m still a bit surprised that they did not use Bradlee Anae at DE, at least a little bit. I’m not sure why they used Aldon Smith as much as they did. I would have preferred Randy Gregory getting most of the snaps. He is much faster, more flexible and keeps working until the whistle blows. Plus, give Anae some work in there as well. I actually thought that Aldon Smith would be better at DT because he was heavier than he used to be and could stand up to the blockers. Edge players must be fast or they are almost useless.
Anyway, just some thoughts….
Thanks for letting me know. I’ll have to go back and reread my Top 100 from last year.
